300w graphics card?

Hi, I've got a nvidia 7600gt running in my system at the moment and was thinking of 'beefing' it up a bit.

Problem is I only have a 300w psu. Been thinking about a radeon 5670 , as it seems to be the fastest card

with no additional power connectors ie; 75w max. what do you think , have heard some say it will run on 300w.

Whats your budget? id upgrade ur PSU first then you wont need to worry.

hmmm, those figures look way too high .I think I'll have to stump up for a psu aswell

those arianet psu's look awfully cheap ,worth a punt?

Dude corsair psu's are considered the best by many here so yup its worth the "punt".

Go for branded PSUs, the no name Aria's own brand ones will be awful, the corsair ones will be good.

Yep , Mushkin with shiny , flakey bits looks amazin'

but I'm on a 'strict' budget so as cheap as poss.

Don't suppose anyone has a spare 450w psu for sale?

its's from a retailer so it should have a warranty. if your interested send a message to the seller for the warranty info. you need an ebay account to do that.

search at internet retailers like ebuyer, scan, overclockersuk, aria, amazon etc

i see the 5670 doesn't need external power. it powered from the motherboard. the PSU i suggested has a 6 pin PCIE power connector to be used for more power hungry graphics card, when the motherboard supply isn't enough

Well, if you don't want to upgrade your PSU, the GT 430 is the best you can get (I think).

Go for branded PSUs, the no name Aria's own brand ones will be awful, the corsair ones will be good.

Novatechs own black edition PSU are fine I run the 1000watt in mine and dont have any trouble.
