hey guys and galls,
i have just bought a 3 tb hard drive , my problem is that windows wont let you use more than 2tb of the drive,i have intalled gigabytes 3tb+ unlock software,i am able tou create a virtual drive of 1tb, the big problem is that it messed up windows and told me my copy of windows was not genuine and it would not let me activate windows at all,i spent 10 hours with microsoft, they went through everything on windows, even overinstalling windows 3 times tring to fix the issue,i explained everything that i had done but they just could not fix the problem and just left me in the lurch, anyway within 20 minutes i fixed the problem myself.i uninstalled 3tb+ unlock, all i can use of the 3tb's is 2tb, has anybody got any solutions to this problem please, i don't want to waste a whole tb of storage, i would of been better off buying 2x2tb hd's.please can anybody help??????????

IIRC this should work... make a 1tb + a 2tb partitions (2x 1.5tb may be better??) and install windows to one, once its up and running use windows dynamic volumes to combine them into a single drive letter.

Its not a perfect fix but it should work.

are you using win 7?
If so go to disk management and reformat it there then you get the option for the pc to see as a larger drive size
i had to do this when adding a 3rd and forth drive and i noticed the pop up

thanks for the reply's guys,i am using win 7, i have tried usig disk management to format the drive but it wont let me format the unallocated 1tb
