2142 borked yellow texture bug :(

OK so i updated to the 158.22 and was annoyed at the fact i had not flat screen scalling and wondered of the guru3d ngo driver had changed it.. it hadn't so i thought i'd stick it out with them.. until i tried (and i stress TRIED) to play 2142

what the HELL has happened with the yellow texture bull

this is someone elses video of what happens, seriously what the hell?!

i've removed the ngo drivers, driver cleanered them. re-installed the nvidia drivers, no joy

re-installed 2142, no joy

from what i can gather nothing short of a complete format will fix it

there is an apparenty fix turning off dynamic lights and shadows but cmon?! why has it done this and screwed itself all of a sudden!? nothing will fix it from what i can gather

anyone else getting this problem

oh one final thing Supreme Commander has decided it won't be playable for more than about 5 minutes on any settings without turning into a 2fps nightmare?! i was playing it on Vista happy and dandy with NO slow down for a good few hours at a time?!(albeit with crackling and the vista bugs) now XP screws it this is totally stupid

any help? anyone?

I can tell you that that is what happened to me when my GPU started overheating. Everything started to go Yellow and Purple.

So you might want to check that your Fan on your 8800 is still running and at full speed (at least while playing games).

It was kinda fun though, all the players started turning purple... Easy snipes

But then it just went? I find if I look straight into the sky.. I get a nice yellow screen!

well its now started in bf2 as well so im guessing it must be driver related even if it doesnt do the yellow thing, i lose the interface if i press escape... lame not happy i'll forcing the gpu fan higher thru rivatuner and see if it helps... *sigh*

Move back a few drivers! See what happens!

According to his sig, his profile and his first post, he is on XP. I have some old nvidia drivers somewhere but i'm sure if you google the driver revision you will find a mirror

XP yes Vista has been removed and i'm considering microwaving the disc...

edit: found some downloaded a bunch im hoping the 158.19 driver will be ok since that was the one i had previous

apparently a new 160.03 is out but i'll test the 158.19 first

will try the 160.03 later today i'm sick of this now lol got an essay to write before i continue investigation. i hope 160.03 has got Monitor scaling re-enabled

btw tox what res do you play at?

and what ingame and nvidia control panel settings?

I did have the problem, which started all of a sudden, and turning off all the lighting stuff did fix it. I was

ed off though cause I would not expect a £300 card to do this stuff. Anyway I then updated to the latest drivers and turned the settings back up. It worked for a while and then as before randomly glitches started coming back.

Still no ideas on it.

I have everything in the Nvidia control panel on defualt I think.. Wait I changed the image setting to performance.. (doubt that does much though)

And I have my res at 1440x900!

hmm lol tox why would you set it to performance on an 8800!? its made to be set at high quality!!(did they fix that shimmering texture thing from before?)

haven't got round to trying the 16003 yet too much Cinema 4D rendering to do (i'll upload some stuff if anyone's interested)

i'm annoyed that i have to turn the lighting and shadows off but i guess i could live with it

i tried dawn of war today and Oh my god lol

after a few ini file tweaks for the high res stuff it looks superb and just doesn't slow down at all! an old game but it's known to slow down due to graphics settings being too high in multiplayer games but i don't need to worry about that anymore smoooooth as silk

ok so i tried 160.03 today and thus far in 2142 not a sign of yellow, and the menu works after pressing esc will play more and report back again hopefully this is at last.. solved!

hehe they seem fine so far tried bf2 and 2142 both a bit more and everything seems fine? hopefully it'l stay this way
