2.1 set for music..?

Hi all ^_^

So my HTF600 headphones recently died on me, and I've been using the speakers inbuilt into my gaming chair for a while now (Which are surprisingly very good speakers)
I've been looking into getting another set of speakers to use as ''front'', while my gaming chair plays ''back'' but I'm a little stuck :/
I listen to alot of electronic music (Chillstep, Trap and D&B mostly), and I've come a long way from #8 in the GB leaderboards (Black ops), so I'm not looking for something with an amazing soundstage (My HTF600s fit that bill), I'm looking for something that sound fun and engaging(Hence 2.1 not 2.0, I want my room to shake :P)

I know the Microlabs FC330 are highly regarded as beginner audiophile speakers, but those may sound a little TOO balanced for me, I think I'll need something a lil' more low end happy :P

Are some of the Logitech speakers any good..?
Not looking to spend over £50, would like to hear what everyone thinks :)

For 50 quid you should see if you can find something like the Wavemaster MX3+ in your area. I have them and are amazing, deffinitely blow any mainstream brand like Logitech out of the water.

But tbf, I don't think those things like Logitech and Creative are all that good. You're better off with a brand that specializes in audio

Found em' on amazon for £42, they really that good..?

Well, I've got two things to say to that question;

1- I've been using €80,- Philips speakers for the past 3 years and since I switched to the MX3s I suddenly keep hearing new instruments in old songs. I was blown away by how clear they sound.

2- The best thing you can do is go to a local store and ask if you may listen to them, this is the only way that you can decide what suits your music best and what actually sounds best. But since this is the internet and you can't actually hear them, these are the best I can recommend from personal experience.

I first heard them when I walked into a store, trying to buy a 5.1 Logitech set. But they showed me this 2.1 set and I walked away with it cause I loved it so much :p

Btw, I listen to a lot of Rock/ Metal/ Metalcore/ Post-Hardcore/ Punk

Hi iBeInspire
I know these are more than you want to spend , but I have Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 and they are the best computer speaker setup I've owned. I got them about 3 years ago for $150 and they sound just as good now as the day I bought them . Paired with my new Asus Xonar STX they sound even better.

I hear where your coming from, but I'm unsure if you're tastes in music will compliment mine...
As far as I can tell, in most Rock/Metal esque music you need a decent amount of controlled bass, with tight mids right..?
That's not really what I'm looking for... I need a ludicrous amount of bass, with some passable mids, but preferably crisp highs...

I'm actually starting to think about modding and hooking up a car amp/woofer into my room... Would this be a good idea, or would it be too much..? It was just an idea, since I understand my current speakers wouldn't be able to keep up and would just get lost in all the shaking, so is there a better alternative for these genres..?

(Sorry for the late reply BTW, I got a early night yesterday)

Nah mate, if I had that kind of money I'd be going with Corsair SP2500s, but unfortunately I don't :P
