16.1GB Reserved Memory after flashing bios + Non-working X.M.P.

Hey guys.


I've been having issues that happened after I flashed my BIOS to the newest version.
I feel like I've literally tried everything at this point.
We need more brains on this.

tldr: Motherboard see's 32GB of RAM, runs them at 1866mhz, event hough they are 3200mhz. Windows hardware reserves 16.1GB of the RAM.

Go back to old BIOS until there is a newer one. Simple as that.

No it's not. You didn't even read his other thread because he already tried that. Like c'mon did you even try?

OP could you try an even older BIOS? Instead of the F9A one?

I'd also set memory in as stock for that platform.I would try 2133mhz and just the timings that the sticks are rated for. Just to rule out the XMP and the manual OC settings you entered. I didn't see you did this in the other thread so just suggesting

The fact you have tried several BIOS, cleared CMOS etc and the problem remains and that the issue itself is that Windows is reserving ram I am inclined to think it a setting or something in windows.

Check the system configuration settings
This problem may occur because the Maximum memory option is selected incorrectly. To fix this, follow these steps:
Click Start > search, type msconfig in the Search programs and files box, and then click msconfig in the Programs list.
In the System Configuration window, click Advanced options on the Boot tab.
Click to clear the Maximum memory check box, and then click OK.
Restart the computer.

Another possibility is ram slot
test the system using only 1 stick of ram in each slot, do this for each stick of ram also

I've tried this sadly. This thread is up quite a few places, but we can't seem to "crack the code" =00=. I've been all the way back to the F5 BIOS without any improvements. The Mhz is supposed to change on the right side of the screen( See the nr.2 picture https://imgur.com/a/uB4Sj) but they don't for whatever reason anymore. I'm starting to think "somewhat" faulty memory controller, as I can apply a CPU overclock just fine.

Good suggestion. But its one I've tried already, maximum memory is unchecked in msconfig. And I've tried with 2 fresh installations of windows so far

Send it back, get a refund.
Don't buy Gigabyte board, as they have really gone down the toilet over the past few years.
