Restore old bios (how to)

How do I restore previous bios?

Motherboard in question:
Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H

What I have done:
I currently have an i5 4670k but in the next couple of days I'll receive an i7 4790k so I flashed to bios to accept Haswell Refresh.
All went well, bios is working.

What I'd like to do:
Revert back to my old bios for a few hours.
Is this possible? I did a backup of my old bios which is currently sat on my desktop named bios.bin but when I try and use the Gigabyte flash tool it gives me a message along the lines of "this motherboard is protected from using an old bios". Probably not quoted that correctly as I'm not at home currently.

Reason:
Very nooby reason, I spent countless hours over numerous weeks around 3 years ago getting the 4670k to run at 4.8GHz, ran it for weeks and downclocked it to 4.6GHz for reassured stability, also had my RAM running 2666, up from 1866, but also downclocked to 2400 for reassured stability.

Now it's been years since I've been in my bios and I'm a little rusty, I'd like to know if I manage to flash my backed up bios, would all my settings also revert back to how they was when I created the back up? If yes, I'd love to flash my back up bios just so I can go in and take some screen shots, if no then there's no point.

It's things like voltages and memory timings I'd like to remember as I spent hours perfecting everything.

Noob out 😅

the bios save will be of the default bios not any changes you made for overclocking and such. Unfortunately those are gone once ya flash. You'll just have to sit down and redo it all.

some bios's come with a feature that precluded you from flashing to an older version.

Ah man, I thought as much. I was just clinging to hope I guess.

Spent some time in there, got my i5 back to a stable 4.6GHz and memory speed and timings all set again, will pop the i7 in when it arrives :)
