But as nice as my cables looked now, getting them behind the mainboardtray without having a removable sidepanel turned out even more difficult than I thought.

Therefore I had to pick up some cable management stuff from MDPC

With these cambleclips the back of the mb tray tured out rather tidy:
Looks good, keep it coming!

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, but although the rig has been done since only a few days after my last post, it wasn't really finished (and still isn't).
Since it's only a small thing that's missing and the weather was really nice today, I decided to finally finish the first part of this build log.

First some of the pics from when I put the rig together:

Ready to move into a new home:

Bye bye BeQuiet cooler, I'll miss you

Hello Stock cooler

The only thing that's missing is a black 0.6m sata cable with both straight connectors, which as it turned out is impossible to get in Switzerland. The only cables available are 0.5m and 1m....and mostly red.
So I decided to wait until I get a new mainboard with hopefull straight cables included.

Now to the pretty shots:

Updated rig specs:

CPU: 2500k

GPU: Asus HD 6970 DCII

MB: Asus P8P67 Evo

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

Soundcard: Asus Xonar D2X

PSU: Seasonic X-660 w/ paracord sleeving

Case: Custom PowerMac G5

Thank you, the other cooler didn't fit and I plan to watercool the rig later this year, so it wasn't worth getting a new one.

There are also a few things that I hate about Apple but they definitely know how to design and build beatiful devices.

Now that has turned out very nice indeed IMHO, definitely
looking forward to the watercooling stage of this project.

And yeah, weather's been pretty nice here lately, took the
opportunity to go for a 4.5 h hike with my dog on Sunday.
