ZEUS (Fractal R4 | blue/black | internal UT60 Rad) - by alpenwasser

nice vid mate you make it look easy:)

Thanks mate! The tricky part was primarily actually figuring this out. Although I have
to admit that it takes substantially more time and patience with Nylon thread (as
mentioned in the vid), but waxed cotton is a breeze to work with. :)

Also, I will need to take another break because I need to get another operation in
the next few weeks.

Good luck with that player. You are an asset to us all. Plus I think with HELIOS and SkyNET combined we have enough rad to cool everyone's rigs on this site!!;)

Woot, ZEUS has been featured on Fractal Design's Facebook page! :)

EDIT:

Just FYI: I'm not on Facebook (too many privacy issues), so I can't comment/like/comment
there, but I'm watching. :)

Sweet build! :)

My filesserver :) Fractal is sweet!

Thanks, and likewise! :)

Hold on, I think I've seen that one before.
And agreed, Fractal do make some nice cases.

Gratz on dat recognition! Maybe they'll sponsor some more builds for you in the future? One can only hope x-)

Haha, thank you! :)

Well, that would be nice, but with going back to college I don't really think I'll have
time to make another proper build in the near future. Plus, I would need pretty much
all the parts of that build sponsored since I've spent most of the money I don't need
for college on HELIOS and ZEUS. But who knows... :D

Thing with getting that kind of exposure though is that it increases the likelihood of you getting entire builds sponsored in the future. Being a college student myself (also similarly broke as FUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuu) I totally get not having the money to do anything else computing-wise, but you got your projects done at least. Even if it doesn't get you full build sponsorship immediately, it's certainly a step in the right direction. Plus, you never know who's watching those posts, an opportunity may come from an unexpected source.

That is certainly true, yes. And having a build actually completed within a reasonable
time-frame certainly doesn't make a bad impression either.

The other (and bigger) problem would probably be time though. Remembering last
time I worked for college I suspect I just wouldn't have the time anymore to do something
that actually does a sponsorship justice. Both ZEUS and HELIOS have been tremendous
time-consumers (which was the plan, since right now I actually do have the time) and
would certainly not have been possible to make if I had been in college (or rather: they
would have taken much longer).

But as you say, who knows what's going to happen. I could actually use another build
since I'm already running low on storage for ZEUS and won't have too much room in
HELIOS for HDDs, so another file server would certainly be a welcome project (plus I
have a bit of a weakness for file servers, not really sure why  ).
