hello again

ok heres the problem, ive had a virus on my laptop, an xps m1710, i bought another antivirus, avg full editon, and cleared the virus but the damage had been done, and over the last few weeks, ive had numerou problems with my laptop, programs not working, ie crashing, till the point i could only load windows and do nothing,

so i tried a registry cleaner thingy program to sort it, but nope, anyway i got the blue screen of death the other day,so i formatted the hd and tried to reinstall windows but i get a system error when windows restarts after loading instalation files,,

so i bought a new hd, needed a bigger one anyway, tried to install windows and i get that fatal system error again, right when windows starts its setup, soooooo... anyone any clues, il post the system error message shortly, im reformatting the new hd and going to try 1 more time.

ok not so good, ive managed to install windows now, but it gets past the windows load up screen, then goes to a blue sod for a split second then reboots, i dont no what to do now,

Sounds like a hardware problem, did you do a full format on the HDD?

Also update your BIOS if you can, try check for a virus in your BIOS also.

Does the comp boot up in safe mode?

it get past the windows load up screen, then reboots, automaticaly, but it shows a blue error screen, but to fast for me to take anyinfo, and will just keep doing this, it wont start up in safe mode either?

Try a FULL FORMAT, create the partition when creating Windows, it should auto do it for you. This should boot up, if not it seems like some hardware error, check RAM is inserted correctly and other components.

ok, still no joy, after formatting and windows loading its installation files, it restarts as normall, gets past the windows loading screen, then goes to bsod

with the following.

AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE MADE TO EXECUTE NON- EXECUTABLE MEMORY,

the goes on to say that i should restart in safe mode etc,

TECHNICAL INFO.

STOP:0X000000FC (OXF78A21FC, OXOAC1B963, OXF78A22160, OXOOOOOO7)

ANY IDEAS?

the chance of being a ram problem is big my sis lap had the same thing long time ago, didnt matter if i used diferent windows like xp / vista, doing full formats etc, try to get a new ram (from a friend or something just to try) if it works buy one for ya.

ps, does it install all windows or it have a BSOD in the rebot after instalation?

Almost certain this is a memory problem.

Download Memtest.

http://www.memtest.org/

Load it, let it run tests on the RAM !!! ONE STICK AT A TIME)

There should be no errors, if there is errors on the RAM then you have some memory problems. I had this problem, I have sent my RAM back and I tested the sticks that were fine and it loaded fine, not BSOD at all. If there is one stick fine, Windows will boot fine with the broken one out.

your not the only ones saying its the ram, ill go get some new sticks, thier not expensive,

because you asked, it gets past the setup for windows installation, then it will reboot, a normal, but when it gets to the windows install bit, it goes bsod.

after putting in new memory, reformatted, and then made a partiton to install windows then windows does its setuping up instalation files, reboots, i get the windows loading screen, then bsod, but this time i get this message

STOP; C0000135 (UNABLE TO LOCATES COMPONENT)

this application has faile to start because winsrv was not found. re installing the application may fix this problem..

Well at least the memory problem has gone, now just seems like a Windows problem.
