Xmas Number 1 - Say No To XFactor!!

shame simon cowel owns both songs ?

Thought about something similar to that yesterday.

Think the point people want to make in the main tho is about the manufactured sheet.

Personally, if the song was a really good christmas one - no problem. U gotta go back a good number of years for a good christmas song. A big reason for old classics being played all the time and that damned charity one.

Downloads under 40p don't count, according to some official chart rule. Cheapest then is tunetribe at 49p or something...

I also donated to the charity link they provide.

The charts company have stated that the Amazon's sales count towards the Xmas chart. It's the wholesale price rather than retail price that matters.

Just heard a clip of the x-factor thing.

It's beyond lame in all respects. If it does get No.1 for xmas, I think it's time to create an underground "peoples" music scene, wholey online perhaps, with it's own awards and based on figures that are probably available online that are better representable.

good job it's not about who makes the money.

When I buy a record of my favourite band I don't think "who is making money out of this" or "Simon Cowel makes money out of this I will not buy"

Really hope the XFactor don't get to number one, I don't watch xfactor or anything and find it quite funny how people can be passionate about it given the lack of musical skills of the acts

There's also a new site: http://ragefactor.co.uk/ and another facebook group.

I heard the songs preview but.. I didn't like the music :freak: Sorry

That's kinda not the point. I don't particularly like RAGE but god anything is better than X-Factor crap. ;)

Looks like RATM are number one from the tweets on twitter :D

http://www.music.co.uk/music-news/call-ratm-christmas-number-1.html

Nigel Pauley, the ‘veteran showbiz hack’ claims via his twitter “RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE TOP CHARTS – official. By around 52,000 copieson last figures… “

and Paulhitsheet who is a “well connected publisher of tastemaking subscriber based music magazine hit sheet” claims “502,672 vs 450,838 but i’m not saying who or what those statistics mean. Go figure it out yourselves but one nil to the real evil empire!!!! “

The difference between the Paulhitsheet figures is 51,834 which is close enough to Nigel Pauley’s 52,000 to make us think they have seen the same stats.

I got the chart show on now, looking forward to hearing the results :)
