Xmas Number 1 - Say No To XFactor!!

Got to agree with nathan, don't like RATM either. But that might be because I don't like their whole music style.

Got to say 'no' to the x-factor hype though. Not that it would make the x-factor stop broadcasting their stupid shows but at least it shows we don't appreciate them.

lol, we dont appreciate them! you or i might not. But the 3rd of the UK that tuned into watch might say otherwise.

The X-factor winner will only get to number one if the public like the song and buy it. the way the top 40 should work. There shouldnt be a number 1 because of a social cult following. thats hardly having a number 1 on merit.

but thats just me...

It's clear as daylight that RATM couldnt do a decent track so they had to use a dirty trick like this. There doing this for publicity plain and simple and not thinking of the people who it damages. yeah merry christmas to them too.

Ahem hate to be the ballon popper BUT its got nothing to do with the band its a husband and wife who have started the Facebook group as they were sick of x factor been thrown down there throats every year just like I and 750k other people are.

And the reason RATM were choose is because of the lyrics its got nothing to do with labels or the band its purely for the lyrics.:wavey:

No balloon popping today matey as my points are still valid. The top 40 has always working on the number of records sold, you sell records when people like the music, simple. People obviusly like the music.

I'm not sure how the x-factor track is being thrown down peoples throats? there not being held ransom to go buy the track..

and what about the other 20m that love it?

Nathan, it isn't going to number 1 because all these people like the song, otherwise Miley Cyrus would have had a number 1 with it less than 10 bloody months ago when it was released.

When it was released it hit the dizzy heights of number 82 and eventually got to number 11 in the chart in June....

That pretty much shows that people are buying it because they like the show and the person that won the show.... Not the song.

Oh yeah and why on gods earth are they covering a song that isn't even a year old?

Just to let you know, to actually qualify then the song has to cost 40p :)

It's best to use the ones listed on the facebook page.

its been confirmed amazon purchases are counting

something to do with wholesale vs retail price

but yeh it says amazon works on facebook

oh and its not really to do with a social cult

its almost like RATM lyrics

standing up against the usual

do somethin revolutionary like

its not like its happening every month/year like eurovision voting tactics

merely, see here, we can do this, power to the people kinda thing

also punishment for simon cowell for fixing the show by keeping the twins in (dire!) and allowing "talent" to be dropped out for less competition for his own

dont watch the show anyway and i like ratm, so it would be pretty cool to hear it rocking out at xmas and will hopefully show the people still have power!

I have just had enough of the cheap TV and had enough of there not even being competition when it comes to Christmas number ones.

Oh and good news! Killing In The Name Of is in front by 24%! :D

Xfactor has ruined Christmas the past 3 years running, I have nothing against the show but why is it the same **** every year?

The reason it's the same is because pop sells. The Beatles knew this and so does Cowell, 3 chord melodies that look good.... simple.

What we need now is an alternative to pop band that can rival this, bring back The Quo !

edit; backing a 17 year old tune to compete with todays taste isn't exactly saying much for today's musical generation.

Yeah, biggest buyers are teenage girls and mother types 30+.

Popular music has sucked for a very long time.

I thought this would be a topic you would love to get behind tbh Rast?
