Competition page just ended at 6pm EDT here which is 10pm GMT. Competition rules said it should have closed at 12pm GMT. Figured maybe the 2 hour discrepancy was for the "stupid levels of bonus entries". But it is just actually closed, no bonus entries were available or anything.

TTL has been VERY busy with reviews atm he has a very heavy workload and as said before be grateful fella that he ran such a competition in the 1st place

We are all grateful for the chance to win, but yes I do agree that since it was stated that in the last 2 hours you could get a stupid level of entries. so people have to stop what there doing and look for them, and they arent there its disappointing consider ALOT of people REALLY want to win this card.

You could also consider that a percentage of those people that want to win may be in mainland Europe and have work commitments so can't stay up until midnight and later to get a few more competition entries, so by not doing the extra event it levels the playing field and all have equal opportunity to win.

I'm not saying that's the reason at all, but it's another angle to take into consideration.
At the end of the day you still have your entries and still have the same chance to win.

It's not an advertisement. He's not trying to sell you anything. It's a competition. He makes the rules, and as such, just like anything end else, such as user agreements, always subject to change without notifying the user. This is what happened here, just be happy to have a chance dude. There are less fortunate who don't.

He makes the rules, and as such, just like anything end else, such as user agreements, always subject to change without notifying the user. This is what happened here, just be happy to have a chance dude. There are less fortunate who don't.

Advertising is not limited to just things for sale. Promoted may have have been a better choice, but honestly what the hell does it even matter what word I used. You understood what I was saying so stop nitpicking it. I probably messed up a punctuation also, want to invalidate my thoughts based on it?

And he is absolutely free to change the rules, I didn't say to sue him or anything implying what he had done was not allowed. I was just expressing disappointment that something was promised and not delivered regarding the competition ending 2 hours too soon and no bonus entries.

If the competition ended and OC3D said sorry guys, but my girlfriend really wanted the card so no winner. He would completely within his rights to do it. But I wouldn't disparage anyone who was disappointed about this change in the comments. I didn't get angry, I didn't attack TTL. Calm down.

He is indeed as I said. I didn't mention anything of suing and on the contrary I said what he was allowed to do. If you feel you are right, why are you constantly defending yourself??? I just said be grateful for the opportunity as there are people who are not as fortunate as you or I. That was expressing my disappointment to those who are upset over a honest mistake.
And like I said earlier as you also just agreed to in your post, he is " absolutely free to change the rules" which also implies nothing is promised besides the item(480 in this case) and does not need to notify anyone of it so long as the competition itself has not changed in the sense of item or dates scheduled. So it wasn't promised. Your bonus entries were the 1 extra entry/24hr period. That initself was a very generous offer.

Does anyone here have experience as to how recent AMD cards perform under Linux? Know it used to be pretty bad back around the HD 5xxx series.

In all honesty I had wanted to do something at the end of the comp, but since we launched the comp Ive had like 15 new GPU's turn up for review so I totally forgot.

Youve had plenty of other ways to enter though. Ill chose a winner soon(ish)

You really don't have to do anything more than just close it. There's really been a load of hardware coming out and you worked your soul out to release it on schedule. I can't imagine doing it myself. It's something that goes unnoticed so the time you have left at the end of the day, when you're almost sick from staring at the camera and talking about the same old damn GPU thing, just take a good rest!

Really don't understand why peeps aint happy at the end of the day its a freebie just be glad of the opportunity and good luck everyone
