1090T's do not get that hot!
use the stock, until you can afford something nice like the noctua
im folding with a 1055T and a vantage and my delta is 6C
you will only need extra oomph from a better cooler if you start overclocking the chip past 4ghz

Money isn't a problem, its just that i dont like wasting it unless its 100% necessary
I've used plenty of stock Intel coolers whilst folding & to say they're crap would be an understatement, my poor Q6600 has been begging me for something better, especially in summer

Yes you need it (new good cooler) as you are going to overclock it
if not i will have to visit you ASAP !

Loads of options
Was looking @ a cheap X6 system from CCL then adding afew bits to it, already got a 460 & TX650 to slap into it. After that i can get the spare 8800gt back into this Q6600 rig.
I really should sell my E6600/8800gt rig to my bro to get some money back but might be cheeky & rip the 8800gt out & slap it into the new rig as well as the 460
then just put the original 8600gts back in the rig (my bro wouldn't know any difference cos he's never owned a pc)

You have space for about a half ghz overclock if you live in UK climates, but if you are in mediteranian climates then not much past 200Mhz. The whole reason chips come underclocked is so they will stay cool anywhere in the world (except sahara, but who plays metro in between riding their camel?). If you lived in alaska you would get even more!

I've just started folding, my CPU is at 100%, I'm using a H50, I have a 1090T, and my temps are already at 54...and climbing. God I really need to get the D14 and some new RAM (so I can actually fit the D14 in).

Dunno about the OP but I'm getting 1,880 -.- Was getting more from each 5870 tbh.

From a 1090T? should @ least see 10k ppd, i get 5k max from my stock Q6600
Way to low ppd,my gf folds on 1090t@3.9ghz and gets 11.5-16k ppd,depending on wu folding.
It could be passkey not inserted in tracker (no passkey,no bonuspoints) or you have to fold 10 wu`s before bonus points is added.
