Is it possible to have (2) raid 1, two separate drives for OS (one XP and one Vista ) and another single drive for my games on the Rampage Formula motherboard?

The tech who recommended this board says he found out the X48 will not allow this, only all raid or all single drives.

total of 7 hdd's. I did buy a sata card for the extra.

Dont really understand you, but my maximus (model below) will allow my raptors in raid and my other drives not..

He told me the x48, also the x48 all the drives had to be in raid or nothing.

I want two sets of raid 1's, and the rest a single drives-no raid. He told me Asus told him that.

Well thats rubbish, once you select raid, the raid bios handles the disk, but you just dont set them up as a raid volume

I'm pretty sure that your tecchie friend is correct. Most onboard RAID controllers (including ICH7R etc) can only support one RAID setup. Any disks that are not part of that raid setup will just be individual disks.

trust me when i go over there today I will mention it :)

Thanks. Its getting put together as Im typing. Can hardly wait.

OK got a question for u was it raid 1? u tried for both
