X1900XTX Has A New Lease Of Life...

Hey All,

Just changed my cpu, motherboard and memory from the following:

Opty 146 @ 2.8ghz (single core)

DFI Lanparty SLI-DR

Corsair PC4000 2gb

To:

Intel C2D E4300 @ 3ghz (dual core)

Gigabyte 965P-DS3

OCZ PC6400 2gb

I didnt think the difference in games would be huge due to not changing my graphics card but the difference is fairly noticeable.

Is this mainly down to moving over to C2D or just the fact I am now running dual core

Anyway for anyone still on A64 and looking for a boost in games I suggest moving over to C2D now

It's just the fact that it's C2D, especailly since 99% of games out are still single threaded.

Yep tis C2D - games wise performance jumps through the roof when you switch

Wow, a huge increase in gaming performance is very tempting. The only problem is a complete overhaul of the system (Ram, Mobo and CPU) and this doesn't come cheap
