Would a 240 Monsta cool this?

So I've just been looking on Aria and Specialtech at a 'see what I could do for a grand' build. I've come up with a 3570k and a 7950 Double D (reference card I think, correct me if I'm wrong). So I've been on Specialtech for a while now just seeing what I could get with the remaining £300. I've found that I can get a reasonable high end 1155 waterblock and a waterblock for the 7950. Just a quick question after that, could a 240 Monsta rad cool that on its own? If I did decide to purchase this I would be hoping to get a reasonable overclock on the 3570k (I've seen people are getting around 4.5-4.7Ghz on 1.25v) and some sort of overclock on the 7950.
And if you were wondering why not a 360 Monsta, well its because I want this build to be in the Bitfenix Prodigy. :)
 
Well I was thinking of the Bitfenix ones, just to go with the theme, but I could also fit the 120 Monsta in the front, it was just cos it was another £50 with all of the fittings and stuff. And as long as its stable and pretty fast and doesn't ever crash 'cos of heat I dont really mind too much. Or the NZXT FN 120RB's.

double check the triple check that card before you lay down for the block. I bought the XFX DD 7950's and even went with the REV2 water block and alas XFX changed the pcb a third time and no dice. so I wasted alot of $$$ trying to find the right combo.

oh and after you double check and even triple checked do it again. The block manu for the one I got even listed it as compatible
 
Ok, Sin I'll do that right now ;)!

EDIT: Looks like they are the same PCB to me! And the block I have had my eye on (more for the aesthetics, but I hear it has good performance too!) is the Alphacool NexXxos ATXP Full Cover Waterblock : Brushed Black Nickel.

You could do it yes, some really high end fans will help alot, since you don't care if it gets hot (i'm assuming you dont care unless its under 75C?) then you should do fine on temps.
If you feel the need to add that extra 120Monsta in the front then go ahead but it might look funny
 
Well for WC that is very high temps and sort of defeats the purpose tbh.

I would get whatever ram you feel will look best inside your rig and OC'ing ram will also see little benefit in games.

Also what rig are you expecting to purchase for this build?

And if your watercooling in that case that really is the biggest radiator you can fit in it
 
Well I was going to hopefully have:
i5 3570K and a degree of OC
XFX DD 7950/7970 with an OC
P8Z77-I Deluxe Mini ITX
Corsair HX650 v2
2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance Arctic White 1600Mhz
128/256GB Crucial M4 SSD
Bitfenix Prodigy in white

With the case I would be putting a window on both sides that covers most of the side panels visible area.

On the watercooling side of things I was planning on:
Koolance CPU 370
Alphacool NexXxos ATXP Full Cover Waterblock : Brushed Black Nickel
XSPC Laing D5 Vario Pump
Alphacool HF D5 Pump Top for Laing D5 Pumps : Acetal
Bitspower Z-Multi 400/250mm Water Tank Reservoir (Would be mounted on the inside of a window diagonally)
Black EK PSC 1/4" Thread Compression Fittings
Masterkleer clear tubing
Mayhems Pastel Fluid for Water Cooling 1 Litre : Ice White
and I'm not sure on fans but either the NZXT FN-120RB's or the Bitfenix fans. :)
 
Looks good, and i would only go for one side window.. if you have it on the opposite side then all you will see is cables, Gpu's pcb and rad.. nothing pretty:P
 
yeah, the dual window seems wasted. especially on the right it'll will reveal the
ASUS riser-board and errant pass-over cabling. some flashy GPU block in the window
and voila..
 
Point taken, I was just thinking about the CPU block scene as I'm going for quite a high end block, but the Asus Digi-VRM PCB bit will probable ruin that look anyway. :)
 
I don't think it will. CPU + GPU is going to need at least a 360mm rad. 240mm is for CPU only. Don't bother with 120mm rads :p.
I think this is what TTL would tell you :)
 
Honestly it seems like they both would have the same amount of surface area. But 200mm fans spin slow and move alot of air but not so good static pressure( yes i know the rad has low density fins)

The 120monsta sounds great in all but i don't think you will have enough space between the gpu and the total thickness of the rad and fan(105mm)

So the 200mm seems like the only option:)
 
I understand what you're saying, but I have seen some good SP fans with full frames. Just saying and it will probably look better than having a massive lump in the front of my case aswell...
