WOOT: New TFT Monday

In July this year I bought my AMW TFT (the one in the rig gallery) after a few months I noticed that some pixels were flickering on startup. I thought this was because with TFTs we're dealing with liquid, so when cold the liquid has a low viscosity until the monitor warms up, because after about 10 minutes these flickering pixels gradually disappeared.

However I noticed that these were getting more numerous over time so emailed PGE Aftercare (who handle AMW warranties). After about 4 days I received a new monitor and sent the old one back.

Unbelievably, after 2 hours the replacement failed, so I phoned them, but they said they didn't have that model in stock. I waited for about 10 days and e-mailed them on Thursday, asking for an update on the situation. Yesterday I received an e-mail from PGE saying they are unsure when my model will be in stock, so they are sending a higher spec model in place of it.:D

Dont ya just love it when that happens :D

I remember having an ATI 9700Pro that got swapped for a 9800Pro when the fan failed and killed the gpu :D

I've never been so lucky :( This reminds me of the time Kemp's 20" Dell went TU and they upped him to a 24". I think that's what happened, right?

Just like my cousin. His 20" Dell had a touch of backlight bleed, they sent him a new one and let him keep the old one. Now he's got himself a dual-monitor setup

I want a 24" dell so bad! I'm gunna start saving :)

You definately won't be dissapointed, I wish I still had mine! :( Actually, I wish I still had my friggin' 30" :rocker:

I can't see why peeps should want somethin' sooooo big. My bro-in-law uses his 40" TV as a monitor:rolleyes:. I have visions of him having to move all his furniture outside so he can run from one side of the room to the other just to get the pointer across the screen.:p :D

Well I'm waiting with baited breath for the delivery

(Hope it lasts considerably longer than 2hrs this time:rolleyes: )

30" was just right, I could fit4 browser windows on the screen at the same time. It was the ultimate productivity monitor, and not to mention gaming was INTENSE. Games really come to life when you get that immersed.

Well with the graphics cards that are coming out nowadays, I think it would be harnessing the power if I bought a big arse monitor. I game at 1280x1024 on a CRT so I can only imagine what it would look like at 1920x1200 :yumyum: :yumyum:

WOOT :dribble:

Got the new TFT. Pics on the way;)

I'm sure it's bigger than the last one, unless that's 'cos I've been using a pokey little 15" CRT for almost 2 weeks.

Which was a replacement for the original:eek: Anything that was black had those grey lines that you can see.

Surprised how this has worked out, 'cos now everything (except mouse and speaker vol controls) has a blue light. Case, USB hub, Keyboard and now monitor. More blue lights than Scotland Yard:p
