Wireless Cards

Hey guys, I have recently realised that I need a wireless card. However I have no idea about any of them so I would love some information on them. Heres a few questions just to get things started: Should I go for a PCI/PCIE card or just a USB one? Whats the difference between a PCI card and a PCIE Card? What Mbps card should I be looking at?

I have actually found three that from reading other forums seem to be recommended:

wireless N is above wireless G meaning if you have N capable router you can get faster throupu such as 300mbs instead of 150mbs

edit-thats the one i was gna get until i found a way of routing a cable

yer that is the step below cable but being on the same elec ring is a pita especialy if the router is downstairs and the rig upstairs for eg

Thats what my set up is and mine ran straight out of the box matey.

Homeplug in the kitchen at the back of the house whilst my PC is in the bedroom at the front of the house

Yep, me too - homeplugs work a treat where the wireless kept dropping the signal. Devolo are a good make.

I've been using a TP-Link wireless PCI adapter and its been great, however the massive distance that my computer is from the main computer (my computer being top level, back of the house, main being bottom, front of the house) With the card in my new comp, for some reason the connection isn't the best so I just invested in 50M of white cat5e.

TP-Link wireless PCI adapter provides the flexibility for installation of PC in the most convenient locations, without the requirement of network cables.

The Adapter is having auto-sensing capability which claims to allow high packet transfer rate of up to 54Mbps usually. But the speed generally slows down with higher distance and also if there is a lot of electromagnetic interference in the environment.
