Windows wont start after bios update

hi.

I decided to update my Rampage 3 gene bios today,from 0704 to 1003, but after the update the windows boot start to load and crash on the logo intro,

i had it installade in 2 diferent partitions and none o them are starting,i switch that hard drive to an old one and it booted fine,

i did a system restore and a boot repair,the system restore dident fixed the problem and the boot recover fails.

im running a i7 950,rampage 3 gene,6gb of ripjaws 1600,windows 7 ultimate x64.

Can anyone enlight me about what could be the cause of the problem?

PS:im installing a fresh windows on a 3rd partition to see if boots before i downgrade the bios back to 0704

Did you make a clean installation on the old hard drive or it´s an old windows installation?

I ask this because some times when you flash the bios it loads with the default settings and maybe you need to change the boot configuration to AHCI or IDE or RAID depending how you install the windows in first place!

old drive had an old installation,the 3rd partition on the new drives(the fresh install i just did) boots normal,the other 2 partitions still restarts at the windows logo animation,it restart befores the light balls turns in to the logo

Have you tried flashing a second time? Maybe the first flash corrupted the sata interface.

I'm with JMMP, does sound like the settings for the SATA interfaces has been changed. Have you gone through the newly flashed bios and made sure all the settings are correct? Always a must!
