Windows Says My DVD-RW Is A CD Drive

In Windows Explorer under E: it says "CD Drive" when it's a DVD burner.

It still functions fine - Nero writes to it and it still reads DVDs.

How can I change it back?

Cheers

When i put the dvd-rw in my pearants pc i found out the hard way windows XP dosen't support dvd-rw drives. But decent 3rd party software is fine with it, wouldn't worry tbh.

Oh :( Then I guess mine used to.

Suppose I could turn the machine off, unplug the drive, turn the machine on, load windows, turn the machine off, plug the drive back in, turn the machine back on, let windows recognise the drive again and then rearrange the drive letters.

Can I be bothered due to a little thing like this? Of course I can :D

Can you do that? Just like renaming a hard drive through windows explorer?

doesnt look like it lol, i always assumed the text box with the flashing cursor in it when you go to properties was for renaming it

doesnt make an ounce of difference tbh - mine varied before i reformatted, and it worked in all senses (ie with DVDs, CDs, writing either, both) so no biggie :)
