windows 8.1 64bit OEM iso

Tripp

too many shrooms
As the title says I am looking for a windows 8.1 64bit OEM iso, does anyone know when I can get one please?

Yes it can be gotten from microsoft download page thats where I got mine from and it don't matter whether it is full oem or technet all the same download it's just the number you have that is different

No I have tried the windows download page, that iso it retail only an I have a OEM desk and key, I haven't been able to track down a OEM version, it is legal to download it if you already have a genuine disk and key, I just don't have a working cd rom drive

Every Windows is a OEM so there is no differnce between Retail and OEM that could purchased somewhere else...hell.. even on the Original Shiny shiny bling bling Windows DVD is OEM Label =)

you should be able to download 8.1 and just put your key in as I rang microsoft and they said it didn't matter it was the key that is important when I was trying to download mine

Yeah it is SieB

Make a txt file and in it type this

[EditionID]
Professional
[Channel]
OEM
[VL]
0

Where it says EditonID change it to what version your key is for.
Where it says Channel, if it doesn't work with it as OEM change it to Retail.

Then save the file but instead of saving it as a .txt file you need to save it as a .cfg file and it needs to be named ei so you should have a ei.cfg.

When you have saved it open the Windows ISO and put the ei.cfg file in the sources folder and then make sure you save the changes to the ISO. You will now be able to install without needing the product key and activate windows once installed.

Thanks SieB gonna give it a go now, if it works I will weep I swear, been pulling my hair out about this all last night

It came up with: this product key doesn't work please enter another product key: then went back to the start of the installation, it didn't ask me for a key though

Not sure why it is doing that, I have the same problem as you have and it works for me.

Is the ISO for a specific edition of windows like Professional or Enterprise?
You might need to change the EditionID to match the ISO, also try changing the Channel to Retail instead of OEM and the VL to 1.

If it doesn't work i'm not sure why, if you can find a retail ISO instead of a OEM one try it on that instead.
