That SSD looks sexy, would look great replacing my Maxtor 160GB SATA1 :D ive entered FTW,

Keep up the good work OC3D, :)

:yumyum:

Hmm is it possible to win the woman instead? I know the missus wouldn't be happy but I'm sure we can all learn to live together :p

Awesome drive, I'd love to put it to good use.....................;)

BTW, I could also find a good use for the young lady as well................:)

think you could install it into your comp along with a normal hDD but just us it the way you would a usb stik or external hardrive?

by boot drive what do you mean. basically what i would want to do is install it so i could put my music collection on there rather than my hardrive so i can just keep transferring it from comp to comp when i upgrade. so it doesnt need a OS intalled on it basically. like it has just been plugged in the usb.

why would you waste a perfectly good SSD drive by using it as music storage geddyhead.... you sicken me!!

:D

you could probably happily connect it up to an ESATA port as if it were a USB drive

Hmm what would i use it for... well i reckon i would use it as a boot drive, speedy windows boot times and quick searching would be a bonus

But then i would also be tempted to use it for my steam folder as i play A LOT of CSS and TF2 (practically the only games i ever play...oh and Final fantasy 7 :D)

I reckon i would be tempted to buy a second and RAID them just out of curiosity

this is a plan, just trying to confirm whether it would work now lol.. i used to play CSS yet to install it atm lol... what do you mean by boot drive?

Boot drive being the drive containing the OS, id probably try a dual boot off it, one with XP and one with Vista64

how would you make the computer distinguish between what drive to save programees and files on?

make it?

or would you have to do it every time you save something?

95% of programs will ask you where you would like to install them, so you can just select a second drive for everything else i guess and just install the odd few things onto the SSD drive for speedy access

I used to use a 36gb raptor as the boot drive for a vista install so im used to having to change the install path for programs now haha :D

You can also change the default install path: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kb...angedefaultapplicationinstallationfolder.html

any chance you could talk me through on how to do it?

example new build,, blank 1TB HDD and the 64GB SSD.

How would you do it and whether it woudl recgonise the HDD straight off etc.
