at the bottem of each thread we should have a space that tells you who is watching it, like on the main page we have a space tellin us who is online, we should have a thing like that at the bottem of each thread! then you can tell if the person you are havin a talk with in that thread is stil there!

Back on topic, I like the idea of being able to see whos browsing the same topic that you are... There are a few forums that have that feature, including my own, and i personally love it.
