White and red/black build?

Hi folkz.

Im new here and i have favor to ask. Im starting to plan my build now and will be posting more details about it when i start with it. But for now im looking for some inspirations for the aesthetics.

My choice is either the nzxt switch 810 white or the storm stryker. The "problem" is that ive been searching for white cases with red lights/fans/parts but can absolutely not find ANY build with white and red. Really, is it that unpopular or is it only me that sucks at googling? Im also considering the black switch case with red parts, but want to see white/red rigs b4 i decide on what to buy.

Is there anyone of you out there kind enough to show me some pics or vid of a white/red rig? It doesnt matter if its not pure white and red. Just want some general insight. I really dont have the money to waste on testing things out myself.

Considering this build:

cpu: i7 3770k
mb: asus P8Z77-V PRO or asus Maximus V Formula
ram: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16gb 1866mhz or Kingston hyperX Predator 16gb (mhz?)
gpu: gigabyte 680 2gb or gigabyte 7970 3gb
psu:Chieftec Nitro 88+ SPS-1000c 1000wor CM Silent Pro M2 1000w
case: Switch 810 white/black or Strom Stryker
cooler: H100i
Fans: Some red or white ones w/o led. CM sickleflow, Corsair 120 SP, Arctic f12 (pro) or noctua

If i go for gtx 680, then ill have to buy that from usa (newegg) 25-30% cheaper, but im afraid of wasting money on RMAs. If not then i have to "downgrade" to 7970 form norway. Thinking of getting sli/crossfire in the new future too. Also considering buying the 3930k/asus rampage iv extreme, but then again from newegg in usa.

The psu is the cheapest i found with 1000w. I really wish for the corsair ax 1200i, but thats far away from what i can afford. Heck cant even afford the ax 850!

Thanks in advance! :)

A Corsair 760i will do the job very well for that specs! About the graphics i would personally choose the 7970.

for sli/cf?

As i said, im thinking of doing dual gpu in the future. Would be waste to go and buy a new psu. not to mention that ax760i > ax850 in price.

Gives you an idea of the colours, but it takes 2 mins in photoshop to swap colours of lights etc :P

Red is very, very easily colour matched with black and white so i don't see how you wouldn't be able to just use your imagination :D

Otherwise the market has a huge variety of readily available lighting strips and fan choices and then its down to yourself to experiment with photo manipulation software to maybe get a rough look or idea for what you're heading for.

Just reflect on what project actually stands for ;)

ofc ive seen that. i saw it after an hour or something of its release on youtube, but thats not what i meant. the case ur building is all black inside! and there is hardly any red color in it. A good example would be something like this, but in a white case
http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=48057. i really loved this one. made me tip over to the black case =)

Tom, theres nothing wrong in buying or making my own bits. its just that i dont have money (and lots of free time) to test on this and that like some other ppl do. I really do enjoy makinig /building rigs for my friends and family members, but trust me, in norway things are expensive! you do not wanna make a mistake, especially not if ur a student :/ just to give you an example, the H100 costs around 1200 NOK. Thats approx $200. Right now i can get 2x H100 for $210 on newegg

Now honestly, im not trying to whine or anything. Just stating some facts :D

Dude the idea is to do your own. You dont need to look at other rigs tbh.

Just look at parts unless you born with no imagination?

Reviews are there so you dont make purchase mistakes, and you can ask about specific hardware here if we have not reviewed it.

Thats the point.

The Corsair 760i holds very well 2 gtx 680 or two 7970! for SLI/Crossfire you don´t need more!!

About the Price don´t buy, for now, the H100 and spend more in a PSU!

seriously? then i think ill go with the ax860i + the cm 212 plus. that should hold for my cpu temp if its not oc'ed right?

lol! Tom, also. im not kidding. That aside, i have serious problems when it comes to making decisions. Even if its about small maters like buying a cookie today or tomorrow, the temps in my brain go over 60 degree Celsius :p its much easier to build for others than yourself *sight* gotta admit its more exciting though :D

There's nothing wrong with looking at other peoples work for inspiration, and to spark ones imagination, i'm wondering, how many stryker builds have you seen pop up since you started work on orca, and with similar ideas?

The point is not that you should not look at other peoples work, the point is, that you should not copy other peoples work, at least that's my take on it. :)

I'm not an extensive modder anymore myself, i just don't have the patience required, i will do basic modding if needed to solve a problem or to improve the look or functionality of a project, but it's been years and years since i custom did an entire case. I remember it was a 700mhz pentium, where i painted the entire case in a very dark metallic grey paint with black accents to simulate raw metal, i think i even put some well placed dents in it, i put in a smoked plexi window, did lighting and a lot of custom work on the enterior, and i was pretty much the only one in my group of friends who did anything like that, lol. Those were the days. :-)

Exactly what im trying to fish up :) Come on, who would be pleased knowing that the thing they did, was only an imitation of someone else's work? Copying is illegal, i know this too well as a master degree student. As for me, i do have the patience, but not the time really. if i do an extensive modding i would not be done with it after a year, maybe more.

As i live now, its something like 50% studying 30% working and 20% hobby. And as can be seen; more work = more awesome computer, but at the same time = less time to mod myself which is not that great to be honest. bcuz i feel like by the time im done with building my awesome rig, im already a grandpa lol xP

never mind that. thanks for ur feedback. more ideas are welcome! :D
oh btw, is the cm 212+ a good cooler for a non-oc'ed 3770k?

most basic mods dont take as long as you think, you can completely transform a case in just a single day off with nothing more than a few tools and some imagination

yeah, the thing is that im pretty bad with tools :P so ill have to practice a while before starting on the actual work, which i assume will be exciting. But then again, i dont know a lot about tools, so ill have to spend some time learing what they are called, what they are used for and how =) The only thing ive used are chainsaws, and drills. *very proud* not xP
huuh... this will be fun :D
