Which motherboard should I get?

Okie dokie, so I am going to be building my rig over the new few months and was looking at motherboard... but which one should I get and why?

AsRock Z68 Pro3 Gen3 - Really cheap price, has everything for a single GFX Card build and has PCIe 3 for the GTX660ti I will be getting when it's released... But only has 2 USB Headers (From what I can see) and the SATA connectors are somewhat mid board so it would be slightly messy with the cables...

As opposed to the AsRock it has 4 USB Headers, supports SLI which I would probably never use and the SATA ports are in a much more convenient place...

So yeah, by the looks of it the Gigabyte board seems better, but it is a marginal price hike in comparison to the AsRock...

What are your thoughts? Oh, and the reason I am not into the Asus boards is because the blue on the board and ROG boards are out my price range of around £150

What's the advantage from that over the GIGABYTE GD-Z68X-UD4? And I am looking to get a 2500k or maybe the Ivy Bridge equivalent :')
 
2500k is a great processor I have one at the moment, I would recommend buying the newer technologies though once they have been tried and tested by others and you have seen the benchmarks and reviews. If you opt for the ivy bridge route I would definitely get a z77 board and not a z68.

That MSI motherboard is PCI gen 3 which the UD4 is not and the z77 also supports higher frequencies of RAM. (Both of these will make the board more future proof.)

If I were going to buy a new platform now and socket 2011 was out of the question I would go with a z77 chipset but that's just me.

Why the z77? I mean, the ram frequencies being higher in the MSI board is good don't get me wrong, but will I be purchasing ram higher than 1600Mhz I seriously doubt with the prices...

Also, the GIGABYTE board is PCIe 3 too.. http://www.gigabyte....spx?pid=3849#sp

EDIT: Also, with the price being £36 more with the MSI that could be contributed to boosting 8GB of RAM into 16GB.....
 
What are you aiming to do on your PC? Budget? Have you chosen your other components? To me personally a motherboard is worth spending a little bit more on to ensure it works well for as long as possible and will suit your future needs. Choose a motherboard on features before looking at colour as well... any particular reason you don't like the blue?

No worry's lee, i ask because i thought you where going to point out how small the from factor was when it come to fiting it in to a 600T and how the cable management might look

I assume because you want a z68 board you have already got the processor. So out of the 2 choices you have selected i would go with the asrock board mainly because of the name. but with the asrock board for the cheap price it is highly upgradeable. but if i was buying a z68 board i would go with a

or a EVGA z68 sli micro http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/EVGA+Z68+SLI+Micro+Intel+Z68+%28REV+B3%29+Socket+1155+DDR3+PCI-Express+Motherboard+?productId=46894 as these are around the same price and suite the specifications such as the gtx 660ti the choice depends on what is being installed.
 
I don't have the CPU yet, but the reason behind the Z68 boards is because it is cheaper that any of the higher models but supports ivy bridge, has USB 3.0 and has PCIe 3.0 too :')
