Which Graphics card for a £300 budget.

Thanks everyone for taking time out and helping me with your suggestions and comments. I'm leaning towards the fury ATM (high TDP I know) and tho it might dump heat into the case this shouldn't be a problem as my corsair 400C is very well ventilated with good airflow and my corsair h80i is positioned at front of case as an intake.

I wouldn't be so worried about the higher TDP, it's a far more powerful card output wise as well as input.

Just had a look at your case. I would fit your H80i in the top and then fit two fans on the front, problem solved. It (the XFX) costs less than your £300 budget, so you could pick up a couple of fans also if you need them.

interesting idea... as well as the h80i fans and rad at the front (top)there is also an corsair AF 140 directly below this (front bottom)....snigger.... , the AF 140 fan is blowing directly across the graphics card. all fan positionings for this case are adjustable. :)

I usually always fit my AIOs in the roof, with the fans firing upward. Warm air rises so that way it also extracts warm air.

well decision made , Asus ROG Strix 1060 is what i have in my case now. :), applied an overclock of 1806MHz clock and 2009 boost , mem overclocked to 2277MHz.stable as a rock. smashes all my games to bits, lol.. a very happy bunny.

looks good to boot:if the fury had an extra 2gb of ram then i would have gone for that. this 1060 model runs whisper quiet, has a better tdp (my 2 original criteria) and a lot of overclocking headroom. im happy with my purchase and thats whats important, :) gamming with overclock sits at 60c using 45% fan and im getting ridiculously high fps at 1080p, itll do for 18 months untill the red or green team bring out new models :)

Good man, nvidia, the way it's meant to be played :p (disclaimer: this is no way an endorsement of fan boy behaviour and as a respected member of the OC3D family, I would like to take the time to ensure you understand that my views are in no way a direct thought or belief of the OC3D team.)

Just those of us that know better  Shots fired, maybe. But you cant deny that going green is the smart way to go. Xfire is toast, sli is dying so the best thing to do is grab the best single card you can for your cash. Low tdp, more vram, cool and quiet running with oodles of OC head room, for 1080p its a no brainer.

Now given that the RX models looked good (for like a week) they are just terribad, the only AMD gpus that floated my boat were the triX 290x and the 295X2 which are still powerhouses, I have many friends who have owned furys and fury nanos all of which have either been RMAd multiple times or replaced with a 1070 or 1080. A fan boy I most definitely am not, the proof is in the tasting and it tastes excellent.

That disclaimer :D

Get them benches up.

I havent got any 1060s myself. So would like to see how it does at those clocks. Only 1070 and 1080 at the moment cause of the lack of SLI. Waiting for them Titan Ps to be delivered so I can get a nice upgrade. Told myself wasnt gonna do it. But did it again :D

Kushiro......here are a couple of screenshots from Unigine Heaven and Valley, i upped to ultra quality for both.the only two benchmark utilities i have atm. Can you suggest any other benchmark ?. 3d mark ? etc

hmm was expecting a bit better, but still some nice performance. Could probably even get more out of it when you feel the need to.

i havnt experimented with overclocking properly yet, will get round to it.. the OC im using was just a copied " safe overclock " from Guru 3d website, quick overclock and yes i was slacking. :). for those 2 benchmarks i was using the 368.95 hotfix drivers from nvidia . ill try again with very latest drivers ( 373.06 ) to see if any difference using same overclock.

I havent had any gains from the new drivers for my 1080s. If anything my valley scores actually dropped a bit.
