Which Corsair AX PSU?

So I'm about 5 days from ordering the components for my second build and I was settled for the AX750 just for head room. I will be running an overclocked 3570k and a 570, in about a month or so upgrading to a 670. Now 650w is overkill for that kind of system, but I was just settling for 750w because I expect this PSU to last a few builds and might end up SLIing another 670. After looking at some PSU calcs, it seems you could run 2 670s, a wc loop, and an oc'ed 3570k on less than 650w. So, could anyone confirm that I only need 650w?, as people always seems to overestimate the PSU wattage needed for their system.

Thanks for the help

If you're doing SLI you're better off going for the 750 cause it's safer. When I bought mine, it was only another £10 from the 750 and 850, and the 750 and 650 were the same price, so if it isnt too much I may suggest going for the 850 as it should last forever and be capable of running every future build :)

650 would get you by on 2 fine but 750w would probably be safer.

You dont need 850w thats daft. Ill be using an 850 but only because Im on 2011 and 2x 7970's.

Do a power drain calc then see which AX unit has the best efficiency at that load.
Total power is not required but efficiency is key really.
I recommend the XFX PSUs too,Seasonic guts and they go on for ever!

We've tested XFX before... they caught fire. The way they got the gold rating was not having any of the safety mechanisms built in.

Corsair or Seasonic, only other brand I personally like is Enermax but the cables are wank. SO all in all because of the custom cables you can buy now Id deffo say Corsair has the best overall package......

Really? Jonnyguru really rates them and the last 2 i have used have been troopers....

I am with you on Enermax, just finished braiding a Platimax 1500....not a pleasant experience, they love double wires and bundling and the cables are Waaaaaay too short. Corsair have the better service and RMA network, the braided cables are not such a draw for me but i can see why people go for them and its a nice touch that Corsair are thinking ahead.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I'll probably go with the 650w because I'm most likely not going to go for the SLI anyway, I was just looking at my options. The way I see it a 670 will be plenty, and I'd rather just get a proper Gk110 card when they comes out in about a year than spend the cash for a higher wattage PSU and another 670 now. And I'm absolutely set on the Corsair AX series, as I'm planning on getting the blue braided cables (not nearly patient enough to sleeve an entire PSU).

BTW Tom i was quite ecstatic when I saw my name on the video about Orca
