where download films and music

just wanted to ask if you can and where to download films and music from (im talking buying them for download and keep)

i wanted to buy and download some films and music etc but i dont want to have to use an app to watch them id rather just have the file downloaded to my computer so i can save it on a hard drive or plex server etc to watch at anytime on any device.

i just wanted to see if there were places out there you can do this

There have many websites available where you can watch movies online and you can download it via IDM.

For films you're probably better off by buying blu-rays and ripping them, assuming your legislation allows back-ups.
