I heard that they were supposed to be out by the end of the year, but maybe they were delayed.

Because they were the first to use PRT and make a 750gb drive, so they're probably leading the way in large capacity PRT drives. Heck, no other company has even made a 750 yet.

Hmm, no Toshiba were the first . As for a 750gb, that's true, but I think everybody is/was distracted by the target of 1tb (or they were busy with prt 2.5"'s as there's more money in that area of the market). I don't think it's a case of one manufacturer getting there first with 1tb, (or atleast, Hitachi and Seagate are going to get there the same time), as it's a more widespread target.

well actually it seems hitachi would be first

the only reason i thought seagate would be first, because they came out with large perpendicular hdd, and 750gb is the biggest around.
