"Whats up Guys" WTF?

Every Total War fan probably knows this...
"Hey Youtube what the crap is going on, it's HeirofCarthage, back with another video".

Can't stand this 5 second intro. Skip everytime.
No **** it's you. No **** it's another video. I got the notification! Beisdes, what else goes on YT? Text transcripts?

any / all engagement with videos helps. Even dislikes. Remember when LTT started saying "Like if you liked it, dislike if you disliked it and leave a comment down below" ? that's basically engagement farming.

Is all this a sly dig at TTL ?

"Hey guyyyys, Tiny Tom Logan here back with another video for you..."

I think TTL does raise his voice up a bit for that opening line

Basically someone should get a Fiverr gig up to sell youtubers unique intro lines.

It doesn't annoy me as much though, because how many kinds of greetings can there be? But of course there isn't any need to go full auction chant like many youtubers seem to love to do. :D

I really don't see what the fuss is about. In this day and age, "whats up guys" has just become a general way to great people.

At least with the second video he has some enthusiasm in his voice as opposed to the british guy in the first one.

TTL does it, and again, you hear his voice raise, smile opens up (/cringe ;) ) and there is excitement in the way he does it.

How do you expect people to open up in a video when they release so many?

if i were to make youtube videos my intro would be.

Hello Camera.

or

blank stare for five seconds

I still remember Gaahl of Gorgoroth in a metal interview where he was asked a question and just sat there for 5mins with his glass of wine, perfectly still and silent. I suppose silence made it something you wont forget.

Yeah, JackFrags on YouTube says that. It makes sense to me. It's not pandering in my eyes; it's encouraged a simple form of feedback. Only saying "Like the video" would be pandering as you're habitually requesting commendation for the sake of it, without accepting a critical eye. Much of YouTube's content seems exempt from criticism because of blind loyalty from diehard fans. That's how misogynistic twits manage to make a new for themselves and earn tons of money for 'pranking' people. Or how incredibly dull people living normally dull lives earn a living vlogging.
