Other than a few aesthetic differences and extra PCI slots, Whats the difference between these 3 boards.

They all have the same chip set (990FX). As some of you know i do Overclocking, so i need a GOOD OC board, something that will provide all the overclocking galore i a overclocker needs. Will i be okay with UD3, or do i really need a UD7?

easiest explination quality, the more you pay the more you get. i'm not completly familar with these exact boards but generaly better capacitors, higher quality material for the main board, more satat6, usb 3, overclocking capabilty and durablity. again this is only a general formaula

form your profile i can see you probebly know what your doing so the above information may be of no use to you, you probebly wanted very specific listings, disregard it

You get more power phases on the UD5 and even more on the UD7 AFAIK. Also, the UD3 has 2 way SLI/CF, UD5 has 3 way, and UD7 has 4 way.

I think i am going to go with the UD5. More phases than the UD3, and not so much to were only LN2 will satisfy the board. either way i'm sure it will be a step up over my Crosshair III.

Has the UD5 16x/16x or 8x/8x?

According to here:

It's 16x/16x.

2 x PCI Express x16 slots, running at x16 (PCIEX16_1, PCIEX16_2) (Note 3)

(Note 3) For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16_1 slot; if you are installing two PCI Express graphics cards, it is recommended that you install them in the PCIEX16_1 and PCIEX16_2 slots.

And I think Note 4 is of some importance

(Note 4) The PCIEX8 slot shares bandwidth with the PCIEX16_2 slot. When PCIEX8 is populated with a PCI Express expansion card, the PCIEX16_2 slot will operate at up to x8 mode.

Now one of you give me an honest opinion. Is it REALLY a need for me (an overclocker) to replace my Crosshair Formula III (which was noted as being one, if not the best OC board in it's day). I use a 1090t on it (4ghz), and will be going up to 8gb maybe 16gb 1600mhz (depending on the deal i can get) and a 6990 1000/1400, and the board works flawlessly. I understand that the 990fx is faster than my 790fx board, but will i see a dramatic imprvment in any games? or even a really noticable improvment over benchmarks?
