Recommend me a mobo for my Ryzen 5 3600.

Hey, doing my first build, I have already got the Ryzen 5 3600 cpu.

I am looking for a motherboard to go with it. I figure some of you are running the same cpu so you could give me some input on some decent boards ready to go with it. I am trying to keep the cost down on this build, I do not need to go rock bottom bargain bin, I want a decent quality board, but not looking to pick up a performance $300 board either.

I am considering perhaps the MSI MPG X570 At $170 (US) that is about the max I would spend on a board for this build.

I also had another question with this as well, The cooler that comes with the Ryzen does not look like it would do to great a job so will be using something else, not ready to go to water just yet, I was wondering if I would be able to use my old Noctua D15 on the ryzen and a new board? I am not sure if there would be any issues. Will the new boards have the same holes for mounting and will the clearance onto the chip be ok? It has been a great cooler and I would rather use it for now over the one that comes with the ryzen.

Anyway, thank you for any input.

TBH I'd recommend the MSI B550 Tomahawk it has good quality VRM's and is capable of running a 5950X with AM4 being a dead platform now it's not really worth the extra in going X570, also the D15 is a great cooler if it doesn't already have the AM4 mount just contact Noctua and they'll send it to you.

Don't worry Noctua will have a mount for the D14 too as they're almost the same cooler so you'll be fine :)

I found the mount for it, got it through newegg.com. Noctua only gives them out if you have your original receipt from the purchase of the cooler. I do not have that. The mount cost $33, a bit pricy for a simple mount but cheaper than buying a whole new cooler, especially something that cools as well as the D14. Thanks for the heads up on that part.

Wow! On German Amazon right now the prize for the kit is 7,29€. That's about a fourth.

Wow, Ya, I had a hard time finding availability of the specific mount, I found one listing on eBay for like $24 or $25 with shipping but fakespot popped up a warning for the seller so I errored on the side of safety and went with the one on newegg. Even Noctua's own amazon site did not have any available. Just about everywhere was sold out of the Noctua NM-AM4, Mounting kit. I was starting to get the feeling that maybe they are maybe just not making any more of those so I grabbed up the one I could find.

By the way, I did pick up the B550 Tomahawk, Thanks for the recommendation Excalabur50, The ram I got looks like it is going to blend right in with that board.

Excellent I hope your new build works out well for you!

Update.. Newegg screwed up and sent the mount to the wrong address in another town after taking over a week just to get it put in the mail. I was trying to ask them to send a replacement but then found the same item in stock now on Amazon for not the $32.45 that Newegg charged me but for only $8.59 that includes shipping and tax and they will have it to me within a day or two from order, unlike the full week Amazon seller took just to drop it in the mail and start the shipping process.
