What to do?

I know bout Venice and I will wait, as long as its not too long. I read around saying they should be coming into stock in the UK on April 15th - today. Not one shop has a sniff of them.

Monarch Computers and NCIX are both taking pre-orders for them here in the US. They will be shipping on May 6th, I have my pre-order in for a 3800+ :D

Not many US sites ship overseas :( Plus customs would love to get their grubby little hands on it, especially if it hadn't been released over here yet...

true.....bastards

BUT....you would be surprised how many do ship abroad!! ;)

I might be able to talk Sneaky into convincing the owner of Jab-Tech into carrying AMD procs because they ship to the UK :)

My favorite store tells me they'll have Venice within the next 2-3 weeks :)

They do have some insane stock cooling. Two HUGE slabs of Copper on each side, holy shit that card must weigh a ton. I highly reccomend #2 Pencils :D.

Well yes I agree partly about sm 3.0support but check all the reviews from anywhere (HardOC is a good place) and all say that the 6800GT rocks. I'm not against ATI, but nvidia's 6 series have set the bar higher :worship:

Thats the problem , you actually READ Hardocp. LoL !! Its one of the no-no websites on my list. 6800 GT is no doubt the best bang for buck in the agp cards section , but I prefer the ATI Pci-Ex cards , simple becoz they are more tolerant to out of sync buses .

I'm gonna agree with Bourne here for sure... I personally think I made a mistake staying with nVidia for my PCI-E mobo. I should have gone with an X850XT or something silky smooth from ATi.

Now I'm even more confuseds :gives:

Now leaning towards skt754, specifically the 3400 DTR 'AR' wasted in my laptop...

Thinking Lanparty UT NF3, Ballistix PC4000 still - then pop the DTR out of the laptop, switch it with this and get rockin. With my 6600GT, and a near future (or right away) upgrade to this

Just can't remember if the Lanparty NF3 needs a BIOS flash before it will take a DTR or not?

DFI NF3 754 board works with DTR just fine with stock bios as far as i know .

And about the 6800 GT ( get the cheapest one around like evga , bfg or leadtek ) and do the volt mod bios flash. Really simple and helpful . Buy the NV silencer 5 retail from some online store . See if buying it that way works cheaper .

For the DTR remember , normal hsfs like xp90 and xp120 wont work without a mod to the bracket becoz the DTRs sit lower than normal processors. In this case the best bet for you would be to get a Swiftech MCX6400V with 90 mm fan brackets and a good high cfm Delta or Panaflo fan . I prefer panaflo since deltas tick at low rpms and it gets annoying after a while .

both boards are shit , why go socket 754 for pci express when socket 939 NF4 boards are better with dual channel and everything. Cost is maybe like 15 dollars more . And about upgradability , Venice and San Diego anyone ? Dual core down the road too ? Turion can go suck a big fat sheep for all I care . Socket 939 is where its at . :worship::worship::worship:
