Heard good things about the galaxy s2, but I think once you have had an iPhone you will never want to go back to a normal phone.....

"Normal phone".. ugh! imho android is superior to iOS in so many ways, including the amount of features. When speaking of "normal phones" I think of non-smartphones, not non-iphones lol.

Still incredibly impressed with my S2 :'D How are you liking yours? ;p

Everyone I know with an iPhone has had theirs slow down a fair bit, I'd hate that. Let's hope it isn't the same with Android

Get my S2 tomorrow, pretty perked

the s2 is awesome man but its a bit big so it takes a while to get used to it...

iphones have always been slow they take like 4 mins to turn on

I'm wondering how I will get used to not having a keypad below the screen :S

The S2 is the first touch screen phone I have owned and I am completely used to it now. I don't use the default keypad though. I downloaded a third-party keypad by the name of "Swift Key X"

Just went and got myself my first contract phone on virgin. I got a Samsung galaxy s2 and i must say this phone is amazing. It is so fast and easy to use and the amount of stuff you can do on it is amazing. It links to my Samsung TV via wi-fi and i can stream all my stuff without any extra equipment (unlike iPhone). It has good storage space on it out of the box with a 2gb partition for all your app's and 11.5gb for video, pics and music, with the option for a 32gb micro SD card if you need it.

In my opinion this is much better that a iPhone and i am glad i chose a good android phone over apple

Just a small improvement over my old one LOL

I got me a white one with a blue case cover. Pretty sweet, plus O2 give me the max £350 reward thingy, so that pays for most of the contract.

What cover do you recommend?

I am looking for one so i don't scratch my shiny new S2.

Also do you have a screen cover or don't you need one.

Hi,

I use the SGP Steinheil Ultra Crystal Screen Protector for my Galaxy S2. I bought it from an online store called Export Prive. I don't think they sell them anymore though. Just type in "SGP Steinheil Ultra Crystal Screen Protector Galaxy S2" on google and you should get a ton of results. It cost me about $20 (£12 - £13) for 2. I have had the protector on my phone for over 3 months and it still looks new. It is super clear and IMO improves the clarity of the screen. The company that produces these screen protectors is called SGP and they do a variety of different protectors. The one I use is prone to finger prints, but it is extremely clear. You can also buy a protector which has a matte surface and is very finger print resistance. There are also other varieties and they are all top notch from what I've read on mobile phone forums.

It is better to have a screen protector as any damage will be taken by it rather than the screen. The higher the quality of the protector the more damage it can endure, whilst keeping the screen underneath intact. The SGP one I'm using is relatively thicker than other screen protectors and so far is scratch free after over 3 months of usage. The packet contains 2 screen protectors, some stickers (Used to take dust off the phone screen), a micro-fiber cloth, a squeeguee (a small foam card used to take bubbles out of the protector).

If you haven't put on a screen protector before, make sure you watch some tutorials online and ensure that the room you are in is not very dusty. A bathroom after someone has taken a hot steamy shower or bath is a good place to put on a screen protector. If that is not possible, then make sure you are in a room where dust is minimal.

As for the case I have a standard Gel case, which I bought from Amazon:

Here is the link to the one I bought: S Curve Gel Case for Galaxy S2

Well for the screen, it has this glass called Gorilla Glass, which is to an extent scratch resistant, but I did get some screen protectors and a cover off of play.com.

Protector It's good so far, no visibility issues whatsoever, but as with any screen protector, it can be painstaking to fit properly and fit well. But it is good.

I had to spray the screen with compressed air rather than use the cloth they supplied, then fit it over, they provide an "applicator" which you rub over the protector and it removes air bubbles.

For the case, I just wanted to get something to avoid damage to the back, and got this. It's not the kind of rubber you expect, but it's not slippery. It looks fantastic though

The Qubits one yassarikhan recommended is probably more practical from the protection point of view, I was more worried about avoiding scratches as I rarely drop the phone. Plus the Qubits one is probably comfortable.

Still running an iPhone 4 here.... Hurry up Apple, I must get on my knees and let you rape me for full price on a new iPhone 5!
