What ever happened to Lucid Hydra?

Lucid Hydra seemed to be just a REALLY short FAD, less than 4 months! It was a great idea but it seemed as though it had poor support from major motherboard manufacturing companies. I was really hoping this would take off, i have even heard of GPU's implementing the Lucid technology. I understand it didn't work very well, but i can't imagine that it can't be good even great with a good DEV team and some time. Has anyone heard any good news about this anywhere?

well AMD now supports sli t then Intel with its Z68 chipset has a kind of lucid for combining the on cpu graphics with discrete gpu yeah I wish I had played with it on my CHIVE but never got around to it

mine works great

it was supposed to save the customer money!!!

it's all well and good being able to use old cards (mixed) with new ones, BUT you'ld have to BUY a new motherboard to do it - lol

instead of using the money on the mobo, just buy a/another better GPU for the mobo you are using!!! - lol

catch22

seemed like a good idea on paper

i woulda liked being able to use my gt 240 and boost my gtx 560 Tis performance even if it was only by 20-40 frames depending on game
