I forgot that I can't use my wifi card if I get the sabertooth because the only pcie x1 is under where my main video card would go so I can't get the sabertooth. ( I dont have a Ethernet plug in my room, so I need wifi)

You could also go for an Asus m5a99x evo, it has a 1x slot just above the second 16x slot, unless you're using a 3 slot graphics card. Though it is a lower end motherboard.

The PCI express slot in which you plug in the graphics card will not matter.
You could put your Wifi card in the 1x slot, and then your graphics card in the PCI-express slot below that, and it would make absolutely no noticeable performance change. This has been demonstrated time and time again. The only time you will notice a difference is when you are using multiple, high end cards on PCI express 2.0 boards in modes such as 8x, and even down to 4x I have heard. Even then, its a difference only noticeable in benchmarks in the form of singular digit frame loss.

Don't worry about the position in which your GPU is in, go ahead and plug the wifi card into that 1x slot, and the graphics card into any PCI express slot.

I will be running crossfire more than likely in the future and the Asus m5a99x evo is the same as my Gigabyte 990x ud3 that I am giving to my girlfriend

Crossfire will still not bring a loss in performance as far as bandwidth goes.I personally saw a friend of mine demonstrate this with 2 6990's.

He had them both in 8x mode in PCI Express 2.0, and was running them at 100% on furmark, and saw a difference of 1.2% When he went all the way up to Pci-Express 3.0 16X.It really will not matter.

That was with 2 DUAL Gpu cards (4 GPU's = More power draw and bandwidth draw)
It will make no difference if you use a different slot, especially since you will most likely not be using dual GPU cards.

so where am i supposed to put the other gpu card at if I move my first one down it blocks the second one, and I can't put one on the bottom because of space so I would only be able to run one card. The sabertooth is out of question.

Use the Gigabyte UD7.

It has 2 PCIex16 slots. But they have a one slot spacing between them so you dont have to stack 2 cards right on top of each other. That is what is waiting to go in my machine. I'm switching from the UD3 to the UD7 board.

gawd, use a WiFi USB dongle. if the card is causing a layout problem, remove
it and replace with WiFi USB dongle.

Well its not a problem, I just can't use that board which is fine by be because there are other fantastic mobos that I can choose from that can meet my needs without having to spend more money than I need to
