What additives do you use?

I got everything in for my loop yesterday evening and then I realized that I forgot to get some pt nuke or some anti microbiol.

What do you all use in your loops? The most popular that I have heard is Distilled water, pt nuke and some liquid soap.

I will be using distilled water but not sure about the other I know that the soap will make the water more of a thermal liquid.

Soap? Hadn't heard of that one.

I use distilled water, PT nuke, and a silver kill coil in the res.

Depends, but ussually its just best to go with distilled water and PT nuke, cause then you can always dye it yourself easily, or even easier choice would be to just buy a premix

I Just use mayhems premix

he's in the US bro hard to get it here. Mick sent me some Blue Berry Pastel back several months ago that still hasn't arrived yet.

never heard of soap either lol I'll have to research that but i use distilled water only havent had any issues yet but i have also done like 5 water changes since I built it to redo this or that

I personally use an EK premix. I know this isn't exactly scientific evidence but whenever I see people who have corroded blocks or some other issue they are always using Distilled + PT Nuke and a Silver Coil. I personally don't believe that protects the blocks well enough and that over time the water either becomes too acidic or the mixing of the different metals in the loop causes issues.

I've always run premix's that protect blocks and I've never had a problem with microbial growth or block degradation. And some of the pre-mixes are really cheap. I got like 1000ml of EK Red from Specialtech for about £5 (excluding delivery) and I only needed about 900ml to fill my entire loop which uses a huge external radiator. Bargain price and I'm safe in the knowledge everything is protected.

Just my thoughts on it. If you feel more comfortable using Distilled and PT Nuke then totally do that. In water I think we all need to use what we are most comfortable with as after-all the guy on the forum giving you advice won't be there with you when it comes time to drain it and expect your components for issues 6 months from now.

Well my plan is to change the water quit ofter like every 3 months. I also know that if I were mixing metals specifically aluminium with either brass or copper than it would corrode faster than if I am using only copper and brass. Which all my parts are either pure copper or brass. The plastic does not effect corrosion.

After you said all of this it has kinda got me thinking about maybe getting a pre mix thanks Vicey!
