Hi all

I install my new cpu (QX9770) on the asus MAXIMUS II FORMULA ,

when I check the temp of the cpu with CORE TEMP and REAL TEMP , I got

some wired results :

CORE 0 # 18 degree

CORE 1 # 6 degree

CORE 2 # -1 degree

CORE 3 # 18 degree

only the temp of core 1 changed , and the others core stock on this temp ,

did I have problem on the cpu ? ,

thx

Perhaps updating to the latest BIOS for your motherboard (if you haven't already) will resolve the issue.

If not then it seems like the temp sensors are stuck and your best bet would be to RMA the processor and get a replacement :)

dont think its anything to do with the CPU. its mostly the motherboard detecting the temps or if your using in OS programs there not the newest ones, so just try update your bios and you should be fine

Sounds like a sensor problem. Try using a difference program, see if it comes back with same temps

It really could be, it was grounds for rma for me. If it is, the cpu should be ok, just the sensor is gimped. The other 3 should cover sensible ranges.

Strange it says -1 tho, try other software.

OCCT 3.0.0 seems to give accurate results. I've heard of Quads with one stuck sensor (never 2, 3 or all), but it looks more like you have one of the new cpu steppings and the software isn't yet updated.

Check with the newest CPUZ what's the stepping, upgrade MB bios to latest version. Don't read too much into it, looks to be another problem then stuck sensors (software related most likely).
