Hello All,
Just got my 9900k (oem) delivered.
To start with I had to do a bios flashback to the latest bios 1704 (even though I was already running 1704) to get the PC to boot.
Initial testing with stock bios settings I got the following cinebench r15 run and max temp : 2028 pts and 73c max core temp (cpu is using 1.232v in cpuz)
With a manual overlock to 5ghz all cores @ 1.29v I get the the following : 2115 and max core temp 81c
AVX offset is set to 0 in bios and with an AVX load @ 5ghz (HEVC Bench) im hitting 85c max core temp
Vdroop using LLC6 on the Z370 Maximus Hero is non existent, the voltage is rock solid stable.
Max speed on the memory for my GSKILL 4000mhz 2x16gb is the same as my 8086k which was running at 3500mhz cl16 which means this is a motherboard limitation and not the cpu memory controller.
All in all I'm pretty chuffed with this CPU, was listed for 699 euros but got it for 600 euros after some negotiation and it also proves that there is no need to move to Z390.
Feel free let me know if you want me to do any tests that didn't get shown by the reviewers
