Hello

As some of you may know im working on a Case Mod and just wondering as their isnt much space in the Apple Mac G5 case.

Does the size of the Res Matter?

Could i use a T-joint and make a tube coming off it to act as my RES?

Thanks

Yes you could :) But its quite a lot more difficult to fill the system.

o ok :D

I mean ive seen rigs where they have two Res's in the same loop what is the point in it? i mean if their is no point then why sell Dual Bay res's and single Bay res wouldn't every1 just go for the single bay?

thanks for any input on this :)

The size of the res doesn't matter mate, so long as the pump is receiving an uninterrupted supply of coolant.

Yes you can use a 'T' to fill up/top up your loop.

I disagree. It all depends up your res - what type (bay or cylindrical) and where it's situated in your loop. Ideally your res should be at the highest point in your loop so it catches air in the system or gives you an accurate indication of when coolant levels are low. Many people place their res lower down in the loop which makes topping it up a right p.i.t.a. With a 'T' you simply remove the cap off the top and fill it. Easy peasy

yea that is what i was thinking and the advantage of saving space in your case for better air flow or a bigger Rad!

Thank you guys

well depending how much your cooling (or in some cases what your cooling) a bigger res allows for more liquid to be store increasing the amout of thermal dissapation (since theres more liquid more heat can be displaced.)
