Watercooled BitFenix Colossus Project Finished

Back to 4.5 , it's having issued at 4.8 and gets hot and requires me to increase fans.... I prefer a quieter systems than one with a slightly higher clock
smile.gif

Im happy with it and I hope I will be for years to come

Well probs best not to, my temps were 60 for about 45mins of prime, now it's around 70 so that's ok I suppose considering the fans on my rad are all at 50% speed (very quiet) so yh I'm just gonna wait a few more hours and make sure it's all stable

4.5 or 4.8?

Sorry didn't realise there was another page. 4.5 is still good, do you have HT enabled?

Lol sorry for confusing everyone,

Im at 4.8ghz with HT enabled.....floating around 70c on load (all quiet)

ive been priming for 3.5 hours so far so good

Highest core 0 = 67 core 1 = 74 core 2 = 70 core 3 = 70

Thats all for now, ill post up screenshots once ive stressed a bit more

If this is your final run then i'd give it the same time again. If not then 3.5 hrs is fine

yup this is my final run to test stability, planing on going on for at least 4 hours more totalling 8 hours, then that will be it for the cpu....

i dont kno whether or not i should oc the ram

currently at 1600 on 8-8-8-24 timings

what do you think, should i oc them or leave them?

Leave it unless you want to squeeze every last drop out your system. It won't make much difference.

What will make a difference though, if you haven't already, is the northbridge

(My northbridge gets hotter gaming than under prime, so may well be the same for you)

Fortunatly i dont have a northbridge

Ok so I got 5ghz stable for 3 hours with 1.49v temps were 75c all good but I'm going to find a stable 4.9ghz instead I'm currently stressing 4.9ghz at 1.4v with temps around 68c

5020mhz was so amazing but it was pulling 450w off the wall on load lol, tooo much

4.5ghz pulled 200w at load

And 4.9ghz is currenly pulling 360w off the wall

Very interesting.... But I'm so happy I got 5ghz 3hours stable after that it froze I just thought it wasn't worth it as I would nearly step into 1.5v territory, and I want this chip to last
smile.gif

Speed now = 4925mhz 49x100 close to 5ghz anyway
smile.gif

The extra 25mhz caused by the bclk not staying put

450w! Woah! Suprised you didn't see complementary fireworks

Too much volts again, I'm sticking to 4.8ghz with 1.368idle and 1.392load volts stable....

It was fun and this chip I have can easily do more than 5ghz but 4.8 is good

Put 5Ghz in your forum sigs though as a record, now you've gone to all that trouble
wink.gif

Heres my stable 24/7 OC

item.JPG

1.392 V on load and 1.368 Idle

Temps

core 1 = 61

core 2 = 70

core 3 = 67

core 4 = 64

the 5ghz was just for fun, doesnt matter really, although i did go through hell of a lot....it was fun though

4.7Ghz should leave you sat on the fence of the safe voltages?

Yh but I quite like 4.8ghz and it does not go into 1.4v so I'll stay put at this clock.... Its averaging 65c which is 7-8c better than the d14
biggrin.gif
but the 1st 30mins on load it didn't go past 55c so it gets a bit warmer as the water heats up.... I'll probs never stress the CPU for more than 30min at a time anyway so alllll good
