Anyone tried out the newest release of Vista RC1? I am downloading both the 32 and 64bit versions right now and will try and install them later. Apparently this release is alot better then previous ones from what I have been reading over at XS.
I found 5472 quite good with one or two problems, but so far RC1 has been excellent. The biggest improvement for me though comes from the new ATI drivers, which give a 3dmark05 score of around 400 less points than XP64. The beta2 ATI drivers gave an almost 800 point drop.
Vista RC1 hasn't crashed at all yet, this is x64 by the way, and the driver support is much improved with lots of drivers available now from Windows Update.
Its now being used daily here as my main media centre pc in my front room. The new MCE interface i really like, its like how MCE should have been when it first came out. With only 512mb tho it really does thrash the had disk at times even for the simplest tasks.
On my test rig thats for photoshop and such with 2gb hardly a clatter from the Hdd although its then quite sluggish in some areas but thats still to be expected from it still being an RC1 disk.
Other features that I like.. that ARENT just about glass or the aero colors

Oh and one big flaw, ive noticed that when recording tv channels, sometimes it fogets to record the sound. Once it even recorded the bourne identity (shown last week) with the sound titles (subs for the blind)
