Vista RC1 (NOT Pre-RC1)

Yep all installed and it is a big improvement on pre RC1, but still loads of work to be done as it uses a lot of the system resources, also i am testing office 2007 beta which is a big improvement on the previous versions as everything is to hand and easy to use.

Christmas I thought?

Personal/SOHO Versions
  • Vista Ultimate - $399 full / $259 upgrade
  • Vista Home Premium - $239 full / $159 upgrade
  • Vista Home Basic - $199 full / $100 upgrade

yep that price is more than i will want to pay for an O/S which does not offer anything that great, unlike win 98 to XP which was a big leap forward, i am not saying Vista is bad but apart from looking nice it does not offer that much more than XP and it also uses loads of system resources.

Ha, forgot to mention - just bought my first Mac - its fantastic for browsing! OS waaay cheaper too :)

Anyhow I wont be moving main machine over but I will unfortunately be moving to a laptop next year which because of Bootcamp and programs like parallels (emulate XP apps in OSX) means that it will probably be a Mac!
