Venice 3800+ or FX53 ?

Hey guys...

I have an FX53 atm but I have the urge to try a little venice CPU. Ive heard mad things about the 3800+ but wanna know if it will be a good thing to sell my FX53 and use the procedes for a nice new Venice 3800+ and hope for a nice overclock

What do you guys say?

Can't wait to see your OC results mate - I am tempted by the venice myself, but might just hang a while for the san-diego, in a way what you achieve will effect my choice.

just like to say 1 thing.......special thx to phill for sorting me out with some seal string and a rear heater pad for my mach 2.......... i have said it before and ill say it again..... when u get the overclocking bug it neva dies......... lets give EP-UK a bloody good benchmarking team............ let the games begin..

Where did u hear about the cold bug mate?

I want one too, that'll just p**s me off good and proper if that is the case.

Will that be the same for all san diego chips, as I ws also considering FX55 or 4200?

Only place I've heard of the cold bug is when someone over at extreme got an engineering sample, and it worked fine on the prommie, but wouldn't go under the cascade...

So fine for regular umm xtreme oc'ers but not for the completely insane?

We'll see what happens as the retail versions come out...
