VAT drop

Thats an obvious question :), I'm going to purchase as much as I can.

I heard this VAT will be dropped until 2011, but thats just rumours?

A drop of 2.5% isn't enough to make me rush out and buy anything more than I usually would.

me too its hardly anything, think a drop to 12% or 10% even better would have made a very good difference, guess it's a move in the right direction mind, although this country is way way over taxed.

You people should really not be too difficult about your VAT :( The Netherlands have around 19% on hardware. And no way the government is thinking about lowering that.

We may think it is overtaxed atm, but if they do increase the VAT to nearer 20% by 2011 I think I'll be moving :p

think 20% would be near suicidle for the country I highly doubt it, atleast for many many years.

We started using the lower VAT today at work, but have not upgraded any proce tickets, I sold some icecream to someone and said "that will be.. about £3.70 I guess..." :D Pennies off, not enough to make me go out spending

the tax reduction is good and all, I just cant help being anoyed because we are in the Europe Union, I mean we ARN'T aloud to go below 15% vat... why? Because people in Brussels have the final say on what we have our vat set at. Stupid personally.

-gets angry-

lets leave the EU we dont even use the currency anyways!

this is one of the reasons why i'm thinking of moving to another country!

Putting VAT down to 15% is all good etc, but they will also get it back somewhere else, fuel duty this time i think. Either way, we wont win. The government cant afford it.
