Vapor-X 8GB Beast

Has anyone encountered anyone that owns a Sapphire 290x Vapor-X with the 8GB memory? I'm wondering how well this performs.
It sounds like a 290x on steroids but with more steroids..

(Is it even possible for us to get a review of that card in the not-so-distant future? :P)

Yes I know someone who has one, but I couldn't tell you how well it performs, he's a massive e-peen douche! Only plays Facebook games and Minecraft. Too much money and no brains.

It's a good card but it is just a 290X with 8gb of VRAM, performance wise it is just as good as the other good custom cooled 290Xs. It has one of the quietest and best performing coolers out of them all though, so if you got one that was a good clocker it should help with higher overclocks.

They will be better at 4k than the 4gb ones though, Kaapstad said that 4gb gets used up pretty quickly at 4k with a 4gb 290X in some games.

There were only 250 of them ever made and OCUK picked up the lot, AMD stopped Sapphire making anymore.

IIRC they are not the best overclockers.

The cooler is very good but wider than 2 slots so it is difficult to fit more than two cards on a motherboard.

Waterblocks are hard to come by.

Other than the 8gb of VRAM they behave the same as any other 290X.

More memory and limited to just "a few". Clockwise no difference to normal 290Xs.

OCUK is giving awai the supposedly last one available anywhere.
