Uv lights help needed - blue theme.

I have a clear acrylic case (danger den water box pro) I am using for a new pc build. I am having a big blue theme throughout. Modded blue cable sleeving (some UV blue with UV blue connectors and heatshrink) and Feser UV blue coloured water cooling flowing round all chipset blocks etc.

To get the UV blue water coolant & cabling to glow do I need the UV tubing as this tubing looks purple to me which is worrying me as defeats point with my blue theme. Or does any cold cafode tubing make UV water coolant react and glow - as i've seen some great looking blue cold cafode lights?

Stuck as can't find any guide to point me in right direction. PLEASE HELP

But as you can see from the link you sent me... the light is purple in colour - which is my original point. It would destroy my blue theme set up I'm worried. Do i really need a UV tubing or will any cold cathode (ie a blue one) work with my coolants blue UV dye?

oh i see what you mean. Unless you can hide the uv cathode behind something (preety hard in a acrylic case) then yes your see the purple tube.

maybe something like this may help

Ah so I definetely need the UV cold cathode then for UV blue coolant and UV blue cabling to have UV effect. That clears that up then. Didnt know if any colour cold cathode would do for UV effects to work in which case I would have got that beautiful cold blue cold cathode I have my eye on.

I might ditch the UV effects then. Hate the purple colour I would see from that UV light during the day time.

I dunno. I am more lost than I started. Maybe I'll go with the blue cold cathodes and get a couple of those uv spot lights like you listed for the uv effects.

You do realise that you can't really see UV light as such... putting a set of UV cathodes won't give your case a purple glow. The UV light will just made any UV reactive surfaces glow up.. so if you've got UV blue water then the cathodes will make it glow blue...

look in this pic, theres no purple light (as such) being given out by the cathodes hence the blue / green glow.

yeah i see what you mean but then i can still clearly see the purple of that uv cathode in the photo of yours. It isn't giving off a purple lighting in the case but the light itself is still purple. On my Danger Den case this purple cathode would be visable 360 degrees virtually and there would be two 10cm rods and two 30cm.

I'll have the give it some thought. I'm looking into maybe using normal blue cold cathodes and for the uv effect trying to get some of those laser lights I can strategically place for best UV effect.

to be honest i wish i could implement both the cold blue cathodes and the UV cathodes.

Ideally a couple on/off switches. Possibly to mount on a space rear panel. So I can easily use the cold blue cathodes during the day and just have the UV cathodes on at night.

That would be perfect! Don't know if it would be possible though.

UV cold cathodes look purple but they dont actually give off any purple glow. The UV light they emit cannot be seen by the eye.

It would be easy to include both blue & UV cathodes.. cathodes have switches on them (normally) so you can turn them on / off whenever you like.

I'm gonna have to give it some thought me thinks. Its the purple look of the lights that will spoils my all blue theme tbh. Ideally I'd like to somehow incorporate any on/off switch into one of the spare PCI rear panel slots. An on/off switch is no good to me if inside the actually case (i.e. on the cathode) when my acrylic box case is all screwed together. I am assuming the on/off switch is on the cathode itself.

No, the power switch is usually half way down the wire between the inverter and the molex. It's simple enough to re-wire some switches anyway.

Something I will certainly look into. Just need to find some switches that would work and be held on the rear panel then.

BTW I emailed you about the tiger grill and a photo with how a 240 tiger grill would look on my case. LOOKS SPOT ON thanks :worship:

Depends which model you go for tbh...the revoltec ones I had included a pci blanking plate with a switch built in.

yes I was looking at those earlier today on t'internet.

Either that or I could be brave and try using trigger switches (2 lights to a switch) and install that to my case through a Mnpctech Pro-Line Billet Machined 5.25 Bay Cover

I don't know... I'm getting a bigger headache everyday LOL
