Hey, so I saw this new tv at future shop, and my jaw dropped.

It's the sumsung LED 6420. Its a 40" LED screen but the thing is that this tv had almost no bezel

it's a 120hz screen that 3D capable which is a nice plus.

What do u guys think?

should be no reason why ya cant use it lol

I saw a 60" samsung at Costco's the other day it was 480MHz I was like omfg!!! and like ya said bezel what bezel lol was so small it was awesome to watch it and drool. and it was only 2499$ I thought a steal at that price. But alas not within my means

i have my sony 47" LEDTV hooked up to my main rig, so that i can watched movies on it

the extended desktop on it looks utterly crap - but shows movies and images just fine - not good as monitors as they have a limited refresh rate

Depends on resolution and positioning. If the TV is taking a small resolution and stretching it over a massive area, things are going to look a bit meh, especially if you're a gamer. You don't want an enormous monitor right in front of your face, either; you won't always be able to keep track of everything.

Like I say, depends on your needs. 120HZ is nice for a fluid framerate, but if you want a monitor right in front of you on your desk, think of a smaller monitor that doesn't stretch the resolution.

i like to play some games when i have the time, but mostly its gonna be used to do work (software eng. starting in sept.) and i'll be using it as my tv...

yea 40" is kinda big it its a foot away from your face, so i think i'd have it set back a bit. but i really want it, as S_I_N said having almost no bezel is so nice, just looks like ur screen in mid-air

oh, and its a 1080p screen with 120Hz refresh rate (as it is 3D capable)--- btw does that mean with a nvidia gpu + glasses it'll do 3D?

I use a 40 inch Phillips 240 htz 1080P t.v. and a 32 inch lg 120 htz t.v. that I am using as my monitors at the moment. Its pretty fantastic, I do a lot of 3D modeling and stuff so have those two huge screens is mind blowing.

yup you'll be able to take advantage of Nvidia's 3d in apps that support it.

Thanks

I'm thinking of the cabled version (cheaper, and I personally think its easier then having that extra thing my on the desk for the wireless)

And since this thing is gonna be used as a monitor/tv I don't think all be using any 'apps' that come with it, just view my own content

I'm currently using a 40" Samsung lcd tv as my monitor, tv and for my ps3. Its better than having dual / triple monitors (IMO) as I have a large area to work with (without bars in between) so I can easily multi-task.

Also about the refresh rate, my tv has 200Hz but when I use pc mode with a vga cable connected it stays at 60Hz (haven't tried HDMI as gpu doesn't have a slot) so I don't know if you will be able to run it at 120Hz in pc mode.
