Upgrading from HD 5770 1GB

to be honest to me it seems like a waste of time, ps3 games belong on a ps3, the performance and rendering are made for the ps3, with that in mind, your pretty much wasting money on a gaming pc to play ps3 games, thats my input on it

if you got console games buy a console
online games - you need a 24-27 monitor (reduce your eye scope and you can focus better, works wonders for tournaments such as league of legends)

i can just ask how much bandwidth are you getting, google speed test and put the image over here

24-27" Monitor? If that's what you mean, no you don't. Simply saying you need a monitor no smaller than 24" and no larger than 27" To play online games is ridiculous.

nope i said to perform better at online games, it is the best choise you can buy one of thse http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7462561&Sku=S306-2003

and use your livingroom to game, but the fact is the brain cant focus a large portion, thats why your character remains at the middle of the screen, that spot is important, you focus your character and check the enviroment, this is reduced with larger monitors, since you wont be able to see the same amount of screen in your surrounding

theres a reason why people on tournaments play on small monitors, otherwise they cant perform, that should be comon knowledge, any1 that plays games, should try a 46 and a 27, the reaction changes a LOT

you can play also ps vita on a screen of 5 ? whatever it is but you always focus that in the middle, try playing that thing in a 46 inch and ill bet you wont be able :/, that just works with a ps3 control, and theres a reason you always focus the screen at the middle........ at a certain range, so you can see the whole screen, playing with a keyboard and mouse on a 46 inch is almost imposible, at least for me

I am interested in that XFX Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150632

But it looks like a lot of people are complaining about a high rate of "coil whine", and requiring an RMA to fix the issue. Low db through the case is a third concern (Price>Performance>Noise) since I am doubling my game-space as my bedroom. I leave the PC on all the time, and have a studio.

I may consider a 27" monitor at some point, but for now I am happy using the 46" TV.
I also own a dual 23" screens (not matching) and was using those before.

i still wonder how do you manage to play in a 46, just dont tell me its in your desk, your going to go blind LOL

can we see a picture of that :D ?

edit : buy whatever you want, it wont really improve the fps, just get something that you really think you need, if i was playing on my 46, ill buy headphones, controlers, chips, coca-cola, pizza, and whatever is missing along the day

a gpu i really dont recomend you to buy anything else that what you already got, i have seen some crazy gaming pc builds that made no-sence at all, on youtube theres people with 3 gpu's, and g1.sniper 2 waste of money, all you need to play games is : motherboard, processor (ill pick a i5 for gaming), 16gb ram (to check videos and some other stuff while im playing), decent gpu (you already got 1) a SSD of 60gb probably (install unistall method xP), and thats pretty much it, if you dont have an SSD that should be the solution to your problem

Lol ok man, don't over complicate things. What you're saying is somewhat irrelevant. On some levels you're right, gaming on such a large screen can be difficult. But you're specifying. Any 19" - 23" monitors are fine for whatever. But I can't quite get you, being honest. You're saying a small monitor is better, so why are you suggesting he get a 24" instead of a 19" or 21" etc.. But let's leave that topic.

I've heard of XFX 7970's having coil whine, and yeah some do I guess, but some also don't. It's just like the 1999-2005 Audi TT's have a common problem with the fuel cage. But not all of them did. What I'm saying is, I wouldn't let some people's misfortune make your calls. I know plenty of people who have XFX edition 7970's, and have never had a problem with them.

i see your point, to narrow that down, while i play i see tv, and some other random windows 24-27 gives the perfect space in my eyes, to play a game in a window and not full screen, and even if you go full screen it wont get out of your sight, thats pretty much my reason, and smaller than that like 19 it will hurt your eyes, i think they dont even exist right now, but maybe they do idk, just laptops ? eigther way is not about us is about him LOL, my question remains.

@uuboy86
Do you got a SSD already

How dare you! EVERYTHING IS ABOUT ME! *Evil laugh*

In response though, it's just about what the guy can afford. For the mean time he's happy using his TV, so let's leave that at that. As I said sometime before, perhaps he can invest in a proper monitor in the future. To avoid eyesight damage, the OP will just have to sit further back.

@Your SSD question, obviously, I can't speak with certainty, but the next thing on the OP's list is the CPU, Mobo and RAM.

I do have a 128GB Samsung SSD fresh and unused, waiting for me to rebuild with. I will throw the OS on there, and probably install one or two currently played games
