Upgrade time

Hey guys,

I've been really busy lately with work, saving up those pennies so I've been out of the loop with the current hardware coming out and I'm currently looking at upgrading my system.

Overall here is what I have picked:

Intel 3770k

Asus Sabertooth Z77

Corsair 8GB Vengeance White (1600mhz)

Corsair AX850

Will be using my current hard drives and SSD so no need to upgrade those.

Currently it's priced at £630.43 including Scan P&P.

I need to get a CPU cooler and I'm debating between the H80/H100/Antec 920 or the NH-D14.

Also I'm debating whether to get a new case (Was looking at the 600T) or should I keep with my Fractal Define R3?

Almost exactly what I would build right now except I'd go with Ridgebacks. As far as the cooler goes I'd say NH-D14. When you get to H100 price, the WC kits from XSPC make more sense to me.

As for the case, I don't really see the point of spending 130 quid on a 600t when you already have IMO a very good case

How tall are those Ridgebacks in relation to your NH-D14 fans ?

Yeah, I think they are a little bit taller/about equal to the Mushkin Blackline sticks.

I would suggest the nh-d14, too,because your case is pretty tight for a H100 and a H80 would give you about the performance of the nh-d14 but would be louder

Yeah I would just keep the RAM you have now tbh. Unless you want slightly tighter timings and/or a greater frequency, but 1600MHz seems to be the sweet spot for general use.

I would do that the performance increase for changing to other ram would not be noticiable
